August 26th - Duodenal Switch

I am from Iowa but will be going to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, for my surgery. I had an open VBG done three years ago - a failed procedure, lacerated esophogus, blood clots in my lung, internal bleeding - nearly died - but ready to try again!! This time I will have this done where I feel I will get the BEST possible care. I feel so lucky to be able to have this done when I was told that because of the mess my insides are in, I would never be able to have another surgery for weight loss. Thank God for the DS - they can stay away from the area where things are a mess and still give me the best procedure there is for weight loss! I would love to hear from anyone that has had the DS, like what to expect after surgery. We all should be feeling great by Christmas - and really seeing results! It will be great!!

Kathy, So sorry to hear of your previous surgery and am very glad to hear that you haven't given up and you will get the WLS very soon. I pray that God blesses you through the surgery and blesses you with a speedy recovery! Just trust in God.
