I love the anniversary memos. I like comparing! Unfortunately, I feel like I have come up short. I am delighted with my weight loss, but others seem to be doing much better then me. Congratulations to all! My suggestion on the site is: Please put your beginning weight, weight now , and your goal. Some do so and others put some of this info, but it will help to do this. Me: 298/198/140 or so! Also height would help to be able to compare as well as sizes. I am 5'5" and started wearing 3X and 52. Now I wear 1X or so and 20 - 22. It seems as though with 100 pounds gone I would have gone to a smaller size, but not! Now I need any info on getting my weight loss started again. I know it is slower as time goes on, but I have been at a stand-still too long. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any replys. Later, Kathy

Hi Kathy, I am 5'4" and started at 270 and am now 160. My goal is 134. I have gotten stuck several times and what helped get me going again is simply adding more exercise. I don't mean strenuous exercise, just more movement. I don't really exercise at all, but I went back to work and I go up and down a flight of stairs about 10 times a day and that just seemed to kick start my weight loss again. Also some people have suggested going back to the liquid stage of the diet again for a short time, I really didn't want to do that, but I was determined to if it would help, thankfully just a bit more moving worked for me. But hang in there it will happen and congrats on your success thus far. Leeann Norton 10 months post-op

I started out weighing 340 pounds and and I am 5'5". I was wearing sizes 3x-4x shirts (or 26/28 - 30/32). I was also wearing size 28 pants. I had my surgery on 8/9/02 and now weight 213. I have been buying size 18 pants and size XL or 16/18 shirts. I haven't worn this size in a long, long time. I am hoping to get down to 150. I know I still have a ways to go, but I am keeping up the fight.I just joined CURVES for Women. I am hoping that with the exercise and increasing my water intake, I will reach my goal weight. Right now, I have a smaller goal in mind. I want to get under 200. I haven't been under 200 in 26 years. Good luck and keep up the great work.

I am at a stand still too I know why in my case too much sugar, not enough water, not enough exercise. I have a similar problem but one of the reasons I have a problem with size 18 is my tummy - Eventually we all need a tummy tuck because you can never get rid of the tummy by ourselves - So maybe it is just your tummy that is keeping you from wearing non plus clothes. Also you can get size 18-20 and 14-16 X from lane brant. The tummy keeps us sort of in X sizes especially if we get stuck - I am 5'6" and still weigh over 200 and my anniversary date is 8/12/03 but I am not done I just need to get my rear in gear and more will come off. This has been a great year - I feel like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon of fat - ok I am still a little heavy to fly but I can dance and sing again ( not well but with great gusto) You have done well and will continue to do so - I believe in us.
