Hi Everyone! Yes, we're almost a year out, can you believe it?! Time absolutely FLIES right by now! Since my Lap RNY on August 30th, 2002, I have lost a total of 108 lbs. and have about 38 more to go. What a blessing it's been! I've been at a stand-still for some time but, I got back to basics today, with protein, water and exercise so, hopefully I can make that stubborn needle start moving again! It's been the most exciting and most rewarding thing I could have ever done for myself, since I am now participating in my life, instead of behaving like a spectator! I GIVE GOD ALL THE GLORY AND THANKS FOR CHANGING MY LIFE! E-mail me if ya wanna talk and hugs to you all! ?

Karen, You have done great! I am so happy for you. I had my surgery on 8/9/02 and have lost 120 pounds. I haven't lost anything the past few months but I know it is my fault. I have been eating more and eating junk and sweets. I am really afraid I am going to gain my weight back. I still need to lose at least 75 more pounds. I really don't know what to do to get back on track. Any suggesstions? Thanks, Teresa Arnold

Hi, I had my surgery 8/7/02 and I'm extremely happy to say that I've lost a total of 113 pounds!!! My original goal was only 100 pounds but when I got there I decided that I could go ahead and loose some more and I have! I'm at 158 right now and want to go on down to 150 but if I don't, then I'm happy too. I never thought I'd weigh in the 150's again in my life!!!! Here I am almost 55 years old, will be this week-end!, and I look and feel better than I have in 20 years! What a gift this surgery has been for me. My health is improved greatly, I'm off all meds, my general since of well-being is sooooo much better! I look forward to trying on clothes, buying clothes, improving my looks every day. Life is just great for me these days!!!!!!! I, too, give God the glory for my surgery success and am sooo thankful for my skilled surgeon who operated on me, but I know that God gave him the ability to do this surgery and he's using that gift to help people who need it! Congrats to all of "us" August re-birth people!!!! Carol Pos-op 8/7/02 Dr. Antonio Williams Montgomery Al 273/158/150(soon, very soon!

Hello All: CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE APPROACHING THE ONE YEAR MARK!!! I too had surgery open RNY August 21, 2002. I would have it again tomorrow!! I have lost 100 lbs. I am 5'8 and started at 265 pounds. I felt terrible with diabetes and hypertension. I was sick of the many medications I was taking. I had not energy and rarely wanted to leave home. My self esteem was low, I did not like how I looked. What a difference 10 months can make!!! I am so active my now. I workout 5-7 times per week. I am now a size 10 from 24. If I don't loose another pound I am truly happy with myself. I don't let the scale run my life any more. I weigh myself twice a month only. This is the best thing I've ever done for myself and is the most rewarding. I love when people don't recognize me. It happens all the time!!. I love being active with my children and being able to run and bike ride. I thank GOD for the changes in my life, my wonderful physician Dr. Jeffrey Berger, and this wonderful site. Please keep sharing your progress with others. It is such an encouragement. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers as we all continue to live this abundant life and press for the mark. Take care all!!

Congratulations fellow August anniversary WLS members. I had my surgery on August 13, 2002 and I have lost 116 lbs and gained so much....(not lbs) I have gone from a size 24 pants to a size 10 ( I went shopping yesterday and was so surprised that I got into a 10). I am off all diabetes and blood pressure meds and have not used my sleep apnea machine since surgery! I am a new person. I have been at a stand still for about a month, but I have started snacking too much so I know what I need to do, I am 159 lbs now and want to go down to 140. It is incredible to think that I only need to lose 19 more lbs to my goal....all the years when I needed to lose 100+ lbs to get there. I thank God and Obesityhelp.com for my success. HANG IN THERE!! I know if I add more exercise and water and STOP snacking that I will get down to my goal, now I just need to do something about my excess skin. Again, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL YOU LOSERS(WINNERS)!!! Kay Eissler, Rockport, TX P.S. I have not sent in a current photo, next on my TODO list!
