Hi everyone I am 39 my surgery is July 10 I start my liquid diet next Thursday. I have a 15 year old twin 9 year olds and a big old 42 year old husband and they support me!
Hi dreamingofbeaches I am OK I will be joining you Thursday on the liquid diet.
I am waiting on my insurance approval, but my surgeon believes I should be having surgery in the middle of July. I am very excited. Congrats to you too on your upcoming surgery.
I thought I would start a new thread because for some reason I keep getting confused in the other one. LOL. How is everyone doing? I am on day 2 of the 14 day pre-op diet. So far so good. I was hungry last night, which is the time of day I am more hungry in general. I was bad and ate a couple nuts. =( I still had a couple hundred calories left for the day, so I didn't go over on my calories or carbs (and carbs important for the liver shrinkage portion), but I was irritated at myself. I should have just made another shake, because I still had one coming for the day. After I ate the nuts I rushed off to bed early instead. Can't be hungry if I am sleeping, right?! Of course I flipped and flopped for hours, even though I was actually tired.
I hope everyone is doing well! We are getting closer and closer!
My VSG surgery is scheduled for July 14th!! I'm 49 and live in Oregon. My daughter is 28, and grand baby is 1. I also have a wonderful support system with my parents and daughter. Today I just finished all my requirements my insurance company required of me over the last three months. It would be great to keep in touch! Good luck!!
I started my pre-op diet today too. My surgery is the day before you. I have been at work, so it hasn't been too much of a nightmare but it might be a long evening. When I haven't been busy, I am drinking my water (with SF fruit punch drops) constantly. I am SOOO glad I found those drops, they are a life saver. I hear the first three days are the worst. Just hold your head up and find something to distract you from thinking about food. I find if I think about it, I am hungry. If I keep distracted and don't think about it, I am okay. Good luck, comrade. We can do this!!
And I'm 44 with a 10 year old. Anyone else worried about cooking family meals post-op?

It is TOTALLY getting real! My surgery is July 10th with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico! My liquid diet is 2 weeks and starts next Thursday. NEXT THURSDAY!!!!!!! How did that come up so fast! Excited and apprehensive all at the same time. SO helpful to have OH to read and find inspiration.
Surgery scheduled for July 9 for VSG. I am 65, type 2 diabetic, high b/p, high cholesterol, COPD and numerous aches and pains..my first goal it to get off all the medications I am on and to get myself healthy..the weight loss is a side benefit. I am looking forward to having this done, but scared at the same time.
