Hi Jen - good for you!  Yay!  It's getting real isn't it?  I'm lucky as I have a friend/neighbour who decided, when I told her I was planning this surgery, that she would do it also for herself.  So unexpected but it's such a great thing.  So we will be going together to Mexico with my dear husband in tow who will be taking care of us!  What a good man.  I am a mother of 4 with 3 step children also.  Life is full.  Good luck with everything and let's stay in touch.

The pre-op diet starts tomorrow!  Yoowza!  It is getting closer and closer!  Interestingly there have been a couple times lately where after eating a current "regular meal" I've felt way to full and uncomfortable and thought "wow...it will be nice to not feel like this anymore".   Hope all is going well with you guys!  Anybody starting their pre-op diet soon?

-Jen

43 year old here with a sleeve scheduled for June 23rd.  I'm terrified but excited so I think that's probably normal.

Best of luck to you and keep us in the loop.

Your date is coming right up!  How is the pre-op diet going?  Mixed feelings are the order of the day for us I think.  I am actively trying to set aside anything negative I come across or that enters my mind and just go with the positive.  It'll be fine.  Take care and have a good day!

The pre-op diet is icky, but bearable.  I'm doing Medifast and I feel as bloated as a tick with all of the sodium I'm eating.

Setting aside negativity is an excellent idea, I'm going to put into practice starting right now.

Hi, I have a date scheduled for July 2nd. Unfortunately it may get pushed back a week due to the negligence of the surgeon office staff. I started my preop liquid diet today and needing to be talked off the edge. I'm psychologically STARVING!!! I've never wanted to eat soo badly. I've been drinking my protein and broth and jello and water but I'm still feeling soo hungry. Any advice would be great.

congrats to everyone scheduled! It's coming up soon.

I started my pre-op diet today too.  My surgery is the day before you.  I have been at work, so it hasn't been too much of a nightmare but it might be a long evening.  When I haven't been busy, I am drinking my water (with SF fruit punch drops) constantly.  I am SOOO glad I found those drops, they are a life saver.  I hear the first three days are the worst.  Just hold your head up and find something to distract you from thinking about food.  I find if I think about it, I am hungry.  If I keep distracted and don't think about it, I am okay.  Good luck, comrade.  We can do this!!

Hi! I am scheduled for surgery in 2 weeks-- July 29 2014.  I started my liquid diet and I am so hungry too.   How much weight did you lose on the liquid diet in that 2 wk period? I am a bit nervous but have family support.  The liquid dirt they have me on is 5 optifast shakes a day, sugar free jello, water, crystal light... But I crave something salty... Even broth would do it. Does anyone have any tips?
