8 Months Out... how is everyone?
Hi there,
It's a little over 8 months post-op and I was wondering how everyone is doing? Has the weight loss slowed any? Mine has definitely lol but I am 104 lbs. down from my heaviest so I am happy. I am now 160 and I am hoping to get to 158 soon so I can just be considered overweight and not obese :)

Oh my goodness!!! You're doing awesome!!! From my heaviest, I've lost 96 pounds. I feel as though my weight loss is going a lot more slowly than others. Sometimes I think I'm paranoid about my weight loss. Just this morning my scale showed 299!!!!! I can't tell you when I was at 2xx....so that makes me feel good. As long as my scale continues to decrease, I am happy.
I am soooo disappointed. I was at 299 for one day. Since that day my scale has been between 200 and 302. Because of this, I went and joined the gym this past week and I officially start working out with a trainer on Monday. He also has me logging my food and emailing it to him daily. I believe this is going to be what I need to get back on track or at least get my fat to leaving again. I'm also going to go back to drinking one protein drink a day for snack or dinner. Yall pray that this works as I'm ready to get rid of my medication, CPAP machine, and fat girl clothes.
You are both doing great. I too am now at 8 months and down 101 pounds!! my weight loss has slowed tremendously the past few months but i'm able to eat most anything now. Testing the waters wasnt a good idea...so now it's trying to get back on track and stay with the healthy foods and really start exercising. i still have another 40 pounds to go and would love to get there before my one year anniversary!
You both are doing fantastic... and yea my weight loss has slowed a LOT... lol and I can eat just about anything but sweets (too much of them) and Ice cream unless very small and very little is a no go. I exercise 4 to 5 days a week cardio and 2 days a week weights and 2 days off... I get about 1200 or so calories a day and have been for probably 4 months. :)
Great job you two and keep it up :)

My rouxeny surgery was July 26. The weight loss is going pretty good! My starting weight was 408 lbs., and yesterday I weighed in at 277 lbs. I still suffer from severe pain in my hips/back/tailbone, but I can still see a difference in energy level at least. Because of the surgery I cannot take the medication that I once relied on for pain management (Cymbalta), so I have been trying to deal with it the best I can.
Back in February I stopped losing weight for about three weeks and realized that I had let sweets back in my life. Once I realized that and took control of it, the weight loss began again.
I wasn't sure how my body would shape up after losing weight (and being overweight all my life). My legs, arms, and face seem to be shaping okay. However, my torso...not so much. I have hanging fat/skin. I still have a ways to go, though, with my weight loss journey, so we'll see how it turns out.
I missed my last check-up with my surgeon several months ago. I will be going next week to catch up with that.
I'm glad to see you all are doing well with your weight loss too. It's very encouraging!

Hello,
This is Mia and I had my surgery on July 5th 2011. I am 107 pounds down and my weight lost had slowed but not stopped. I did go in a phase where I ate whatever I wanted bad or good for about a week and had to pull myself together and I had put on 6 pounds easy. So as not to abuse my tool,I jumped back onto the basics...protien shakes and very small meals to erase the damage I had done. It was that time of the month but still I do better any other month. I have noticed that I am able to drink so much water now and faster and can eat 1 1/2 cup of food (scary) but I am active. The doctor said that I should began muscle toning now but I hate to see the scale go up even if its gaining muscle. I will start when I am closer to my goal. I am having a ball with my sleeve and at this stage I only worry about which outfit I am going to buy!!
