Do only some people have to do the liquid preop diet? This is the 1st I have heard of it and I have my surgery in 2 weeks.

My date for Roux enY is July 26th. I am so excited and ready to start this process. I am ready to do 5k runs again and play tennis. God and Dr Clements please get me there. Good luck to the soooo many that are scheduled this month.

Topic: newbie here, post op day 3
Anyone else had their surgery already? I am 3 days post op and feeling pretty sore. I also am having a hard time getting all my fluids in. It is a challenge but this is my first day really eating. I am freaking out because I have actually gained weight. I am hoping that it is just the extra fluid they gave me during surgery. I know I could really use any support out there. thanks

So excited, received my approval from BCBS and then scheduled by surgery date for July 29th.
It was awesome telling my boss to plan for me being out for a minimum of 6 weeks. I am really fortunate that my work location will allow me the full doctor recommended leave for the surgery and the best part is, I will get full pay for the entire time I am out.

I am so glad for the doctor I have.
Started the protein diet a few days early. Lost seven pounds in six days. Today is the official start day of the diet. Thankfully the doc allows for some protein and snacks (fruit, half a sandwich, etc).

Good Morning everyone, got a phone call this morning my surgery has been moved up to 7:30 instead of 11:00 have to be at the hospital at 6:00am now oh what a joy it was to get that call, did not want to have to wait that long without anything to drink......forget about eating LOL......Good luck to everyone on your new journey.
