Topic: I'm still ME!...Reflections
So, here I am, sitting at my desk at work...looking in a mirror, and I see "ME". It's odd to think that a year ago I looked puffy, obese, fat, etc., but now, all I think about is that I'm still me. I haven't changed. In fact, I have a hard time noticing any change at all. I forget that I look different, because, while I feel different, I still feel like "ME". People don't recognize me on the street at first, and when they finally do, they freak the hell out. It makes me so uncomfortable. It makes me wonder if they really knew "Me" at all. weird.

I'd love to hear some other's answers on this too. I have that skin problem too!
Topic: July double play
Today, I finally broke through the 200 lb. weight barrier and finally made it to 198 lbs. According to my WII Fit this morning, I am also no longer considered "OBESE". I am officially in the "OVERWEIGHT" range. Woo, Woo!.
My highest weight prior to surgery was 409 lbs. My surgery anniversary date is July 30th. I never dreamed last July that I would have had so much success in such a short amount of time. Thank God I got my nerve up and went through with this surgery. I don't want to even consider what my life would be like if I hadn't.
Boy did I need this morale booster today. Thank you God for giving me the strength to continue down this path and for all the new friends sent my way.

Topic: Ladies, Let's Talk About Bras!
I have moved down MANY bra sizes and I was just measured myself today and realized I should be wearing a 36 instead of a 38. In fact, my chest is a 34, but you have to add an inch, right? Anyway.....I tried on some 36s and had this.....skin. You know, the stuff that hangs right under the arms that you think you should be able to tuck in somewhere. And then the front felt loose but the back looked tight? WTF? Anyone worked this issue out yet? Should I just stay in the bigger size? Anyone find a bra that does what it should with the extra skin? Advice eagerly accepted!

Thank you Julie. You are doing so well too. It's amazing how different we all look from when we started. Just amazing :-)
Topic: My gift to myself....
So I decided to buy myself a couple of swimsuits from Victoria Secret. This all came about when the top to my other suit broke in the back. How embarrassing that would have been if I'd been anywhere but home. Here I am bending over to pick up a toy for my 3 year old and SNAP the hook in the back breaks and down goes the top.......boobs flop around like a couple of tennis balls in socks......it was not pretty.....but like I said I was at home and NONE of my neighbors were outside. I ran into the house and out of sight faster than I've ever moved in my life with my twins in my hands!.......LOL So I started looking for a new suit......I've worn a bikini while I was in the early stages of pregnancy with my first daughter at the age of 20....and that is the only time EVER until this summer! I started out wearing it while I lay in the hammock in my yard to get a better tan......then I couldn't find the one piece I had and ended up going to a pool on the 4th of July.......in my bikini....AND I DIDN'T CARE! I figure it this way...I'm 35 years old....I'm a mother of two....my boobs will sag....I will have strech marks on my belly and elsewhere....and if you don't like what you see don't fricken look then! Hell I look better than half the teenagers running around in swimsuits anyway!......Well maybe not.....but I don't look much worse either.....lol So these are the suits I bought to replace my one broken one......My body isn't as perky as it once was and I will never look the way these girls do.....but I LOVE these suits and will be proud to wear them!.......even if I gross out all the teenagers at the pool......at lease my 60 year old neighbor man wont complain.......lol....he even offered to mow my lawn for me after the first time he saw me catching some rays.......Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and dammit I feel beautiful! I'll get some pics of myself in the suits on my 1 year anniversary and post them for everyone then.......it's only 5 days away now! Until then here they are at the VS website!

I feel ya with the sharpei skin! I am a hot mess under the clothes and spanx! Oh well, the hubby doesn't mind :) You have done amazing! My doc said that the last 20 lbs or so will take the longest to lose. Keep doing what your doing! Take care!

I drink wayyyyyyyyyyyy to much coffee! Iced is easy to make at home for cheap! I use cold coffee (duh!) and a little half and half! The real stuff makes all the difference for me so I only need a little and some splenda! YUM!!!
