Hi Emilie..
I'm doing well now , I hit a plateau at around the second week of my 3rd month post op.. weight basically creep off like a turtle.. But when the 4month came in it started dropping so fast.. TILL IT SCARED THE H--- L out of me..LOL.. crazy HUGH.. but I'm grateful for this surgery I wouldn't change for nothing in the world.. my co-morbid of high blood pressure are normal no more blood pressure pills, no diabetes, feet don't swell.. only thing now is because I was sooo heavy I sometimes didn't get a period at all when I weight 380lbs.. now MOTHER NATURE is back with a vengeance.. LOL.. I can't complain with over 145lbs weight loss.. and 20 lbs lost pre-op.. so that's "DOG GONE GOOD for 4 Months post op"... But as I see for the July board WE ALL ARE JAMMING..LOL.

keep it up JULYER's!!

I think the more you weighed post op the quicker the weight comes off. You and I started around the same weight. We probably are weighing about the same if not less than those starting out at higher weights. It's hard not to compare our progression to others. But we are all so different. I get frustrated easily. But at the end of the day I still weigh 60 lbs less than I did less than 5 months ago!

Amazing!

Your doing great! Your BMI is better than most of us! I think it all depends on what weight you start out at and your bodies metabolism. Mine is slower it seems. Probably because I am not great at eating all the right things. I am exercising though and I have noticed a difference in inches. :D

I've only lost around/about 60 lbs. And my surgery was a day after yours. I started at 242 and am now weighing in at 182. Pretty amazing when I think about it. I know  it seems like a slow progression but when you start out smaller it takes longer.

You all seem to be loosing faster that I am, but I am  not discouraged.  I'm too busy trying to develpe my better eating habits.  Exercise is sporatic at best.  But my chin is still up!

I have been a slow loser since surgery.  Averaging 1-2 lbs a week.  But I am down 122 lbs from my high weight.  I probably need to up my protein and exercise.

I did see the end of the show this week.  They are all looking great.  I wonder how much we could lose in a week if we could exercise like a full-time job too.

I only lost 2 pounds last month. I have been back on my protien for the past 2 1/2 weeks and that's probably why I wasn't loosing weight ( I guess) . I was exercising every other day, drink all my water and the only meal I eat is dinner.Last month my weight went up  from 271 to 278. As of today I am 269. My surgery date was 7/14. I got depressed and stopped exercising, but did start back on the protien. I will start exercising again today, but I wonder sometimes if I got the wrong surgery. I am trying to work with the tool I have, but it has been very discouraging. I try to stay positive, but it is a challenge.

Doing good i have lost 96lbs as of today I am hoping for 100 by christmas and I might make it i hope i will.  I need to exsercise more i know that i need to but with two 4 year old toddlers it is hard and i cannot afford the gym every month and even if i could they have no day care :-(, but i am getting a Wii for christmas so that should help.
I do miss certain foods on occassion sweets have always been my weakness and i have done fairly well considering that. I have had  one or two pieces of candy but then i was done and satisfied use to be i could eat tons now one piece does it for me i refuse to deprive my self of a treat now and again and i know that now i can control it. I don't regret my decision now i remember i did for a while i remember 3 weeks out sitting in the drive thru at Mc'D's and i cried cause i wouldn't eat there much again how stupid is that, that i cried for something that helped me get to 329 lbs, now i look at my husband when he eats his 20 piece chicken nugget meal "large" and go holy cow i use to be able to eat the too. CRAZY!

So I say thank you RNY i now weigh less than my hubby for the first time in our nearly 11 year marriage, i can wear his pants which i have never done! I am looking forward to hitting my goal and maybe for once in my life liking what i see in the mirror.
Consult weight 329
surgery weight 318
current weight 177
goal 165

Hey Butterfly,

We had the surgery the same day and have lost the same amount of weight so far.  I'm glad to see someone else with similar results as I've been feeling like a slow loser lately.  Being stuck for most of November has been frustrating.

I'm 61 pounds down since surgery and happy with the weight loss so far.  I was stuck at the same weight for most of November but the scale is finally starting to trend downward again.

I don't think I've been eating enough calories lately and need to up my daily intake by 200.   I don't feel hungry at all and I've been bad about timing my meals appropriately.   I need to push harder with the exercise now that the cool weather has arrived in Texas.  Exercise is my weak area.  I need to make more time for it.
