I feel ya Luanne..

I can eat a little flank steak rare.. but takes a little over a week and a half to digest out of system.. Seafood is my friend.. chicken is too as long as it isn't fried... I totally get so sick too the point of throwing up!  I can eat ground pork like in chili but it has to be cooked moist..
But a good thing... we should have a lower cholesterol level..

Topic: 6 months out today!
I wanted to be 100 lbs down today and only had a half pound to go, but I woke up this morning a pound heavier.  gah!  Oh well.  It has been a rollercoaster ride, with its ups and downs.  I only lost 5 pounds this month, due to a bite of this and a bite of that over the holidays.  I feel 100% better than I've felt in years - all except for my back, which is pretty much wrecked.

What have I learned in the last 6 months?
It's harder than I thought it would be.

There will be people who are truly happy for you and then others who are just waiting for you to fail.

There will be people who will look elsewhere to put youdown.  If it is no longer the weight, it is the saggy skin, or the fact that you had to have the surgery to make it happen.

Carbs are still the enemy.  Some people can partake of them freely.  I am not one of those people.

I don't dump.

I can eat anything.  I just have to choose not to.

I can eat more than what I'm supposed to.  I just have to choose not to.

There are all kinds of ways to "eat around" the surgery.  When I figure out one of them I don't do it anymore.

Protein helps me lose weight.  If I don't get it all in, I don't lose weight.

64 oz of fluid a day doesn't seem like a lot, but it is.  It is a struggle everyday to get it in.

It's easy to forget the vitamins and supplements the further out I go, but I try like heck not to.

It gets harder to stay on track.

It's all worth it.

Topic: RE: Tried Click?
I tried it and liked it.  I was able to give it to my Starbucks-loving non-WLS friend and she didn't even know it was a healthy drink.  I also would add protein powder to it to up the stats and make it a meal replacement.  However, I try to stay away from caffeine as it makes me crave carbohydrates.  I gave it up almost a year before I even had surgery!

I found Click on the shelves at a local supermarket in Canada over the holidays & I love it!  They recommend two scoops as a serving, but as the stats aren't quite as good as I'd like I decided to use it as an add-in to my regular shakes.  I add about 1/2 of one scoop to a full scoop of chocolate protein powder and it makes a yummy shake!  There is also another line in Canada called "Whey Gourmet" that makes an arctic cappucinno flavored powder (complete with caffeine) that I also liked - I ordered them both online from Netrition and am anxiously tracking my order!

I  have only lost 63 lbs since surgery.  I lose 3 lbs in two days and then stall for 2-3 weeks.  It is slow but steady.  But I am also not eating as well as I should and I do not exercise at all.  Just being more active..

If you order some, please email me and let me know.  I've thought about it several times.  Have you called about samples?  I've tried some stuff (Necter) that others like and thought it was gross, so samples are always a lifesaver!
