I am on the 7 day ALL PROTEIN DIET

 If I don't break this stall soon I am going to cry. I gained weight on my vacay. I had gotten down to 162 lbs. Now I am back up to 168! I ate wayyyy to much of the wrong things on vacay. It was too difficult because Disney and Universal don't offer high protein foods. All of it was breaded and fried. Even the drink choices were difficul****er was the only option. And they charged $4.50 a bottle.

So far I have eaten chicken, and hamburger. And the only snack food I have eaten is sugar free popcicles. It's hard because I want to eat salty snacks. I will give this a try and hopefully will be back on track soon. It's day two and still the scale hasn't moved.  

I am eating wayyy to much. The doctor tells me I should still be eating just 2 ounces a meal. Well I am eating way more than that. I am still hungry after 2 ounces. So did the surgery not work for me? Why am I still hungry? 

Any advice? Anyone else having these issues?

2 ounces?????  I can eat way more than that too.  I also have no dumping issues at all.  I can eat anything.  I lost five pounds in January.  Gained four and then lost the four in February, and have lost maybe a pound this month.  It's getting way hard to keep doing the right things without seeing any results.

 JoAnna, I am so glad to her I am not the only one! How are you by the way? I feel like we are sisters in this journey.

I eat Wayyyy more than 2 ounces. I eat until I feel full. Which is what I thought I was supposed to be doing. But I guess not, according to the nurse she told me that we can stretch out the opening into the stomach. Meaning more food passes through. It makes that feeling of fullness go away. She said that the danger is between 6 months - 1 year post op. I had no idea! I was eating because I thought this was what I was supposed to do. Eat until my pouch felt full. I was eating the wrong things (this I knew was wrong). Carbs mostly. I am off the carbs this week. I am going to try to eat just protein. But I am struggling with just 2 ounces. I am starving if I do that. :( So I am eating the protein and hoping this will kick my weight loss into gear again. I am so close to the finish line. I am afraid I am going to mess it all up. :( I don't ever want to go back to the way I was.

2 oz this far out??   Doesn't sound like a very small amount to the rest of you?   I mean, how in the world are you supposed to get in your calories when you're only eating 2 oz.  How many meals are they saying that you should be doing?   2 oz is only 1/4 of a cup!!   dang.....That doesn't sound right.  I have been on a long stall too, but I think I broke the stall.  Mind you, I've been getting to the gym in the past couple of weeks too, so I suspect that's part of the reason for the stall.  So I've lost 3 lbs this past week, thank goodness!!  :-)

I see you are very close to your goal weight. I've heard once you get within the last 20 lbs. it gets very difficult to lose.

I'd go back to the basics and follow all your doctors instructions. Two ounces sounds unrealistic though. I'd up it to 4 oz. or 1/2 Cup per meal. Always start with protein first, then veggies and/or a slice of fruit. Don't drink 1/2 before or after meals. This really helps me feel full.

I haven't had a problem losing weight yet, but I still have so much to lose. I do stall for a week or so, but then I'll drop 3 or 4 lbs. I have always stayed on plan. I do cheat with a cookie or chocolate but I can't eat more than 1 and I get the craving satisfied. I try to keep my calories to about 800 - 1000 per day.

2 ounces per meal is not enough at eight months out.  I eat at least 1/2 cup at a time and a full cup if it's salad or soup.  I try to eat 1100-1200 calories per day.  

I think once you get rid of your carb monster you'll be back on track and not feel so hungry.   I fed the carb monster too many girl scout cookies and had to cut myself off too.  My weight loss has slowed considerably but I'm getting fairly close to goal so I expect it.   I have days when I'm hungry and days when I have to make myself eat to get my calories in.

If I have a protein shake mid morning and another one mid afternoon I don't feel hungry between meals.  I love Click espresso protein made with low sugar chocolate milk and ice blended up like a shake.  It satisfies my "sweet tooth".  It's the best shake I've ever had and I can honestly say I look forward to it daily.

I just ordered some Click. I hope it's good it was $25.00 for a container. A bit pricey but I guess worth it if it tastes good!

If you like mocha/coffee flavors, you'll like it.   I go through 3-4 cans a month.  Amazon has it on special sometimes for $17 with free shipping.

Thanks! If I like it I will order it from there then. I forgot all about Amazon. I checked some other sites and they were all running about the same $25. But like I said, a small price to pay to get that protein in. :)

I really like the Bariwise Chocolate shake/pudding. I actually eat it as pudding. It's on sale right now for $9.99 for 7 individual packets on bariatricchoice.com . But I always wait for free shipping codes and discounts before I buy anything. I'm a tight wad. lol

 Thanks you guys! Yes it does seem like a small amount! They told me at this point I shouldn't be looking at calories! I am really finding this difficult you guys. I tried the 2 ounces all day yesterday and by the end of the night I was so hungry I caved and ate popcorn (my nemesis). I did lose weight though. I weighed this morning and I had lost 2.5 pounds. I am still not down to what I was at before vacation. But I am on my way. I am really frustrated. I want to do the right things but to me 2 ounces this far out is starvation. I felt ill yesterday eating so few calories. And ultimately I caved and ate the wrong thing because of it. :( 

I am ordering some of that protein shake pooh! Thanks girl! 

Another reason for the weight gain. My monthly visitor arrived yesterday! So I am willing to bet the weight starts to come off now. :)
