Ok so I have been slipping... ALOT lately and feel I need to put it out there so that I am accountable for my actions!  I have been hungry lately, since thanksgiving! I think it is because I indulged at thanksgiving, not neccesarily eating too much but eating the wrong food IE... too many carbs which has in return made me hungry and beggining to crave carbs again. I discovered over thanksgiving that I do not dump on anything which is really not a good thing for me. I have not gained any weight but the weight loss has slowed down over the past few weeks and now it is time to get my butt in gear. I have completly gotten away from the rules and now am trying to start out on a new leg. I have started getting my vitamins in again and am now working towards focusing on protien again. I am going to start logging my intake again tomorrow and focusing on THE RULES that I know are in place for a reason. I am 4 and a half months out and down 75 lbs, I have gone from a BMI of 51 to a 37 which is phenomenol and I feel great but I am ready to put the rest of my weight behind me forever! Thanks for listening to me be honest with myself and become accountable. I plan on joining a support group and getting back on track!

Wow, it's hard for me to believe that it's only been 4.5 months for you.  You're doing great with the weight loss!!  You're doing great to recognize that you've been slipping and are gonna regroup and get back to the basics "the rules" and plan on joining a support group!  I just that I am about 75 lbs lighter at 4.5 months out!!!!  Good luck and hope everything works out for you!!!

Destiny, sounds like you're doing just fine.  Don't beat yourself up too much.  It's a lifestyle change, not a diet.  That's where I always, in the past, felt as if I had failed.  You're allowed to have a few carbs, but your 1st goal is protein and to eat slowly.  Just take a deep breath and just be.  You'll be fine.  Sounds like you have a good plan for getting back on track.  I don't think you've gone too far off track.  Sounds like head hunger to me.  Hang in there, Destiny, you'll do just fine.  Keep us posted.  :-)

If it's any consolation I have not lost as much as you have (only 60 lbs) I ate my weight in Chips and Salsa tonight at Don Pablos and I also have been horrible about following the rules! I try to stay on track but it's really hard for me. I work out and take my supplements. And I am good at fluids now. But getting just plain protein in is hard stuff. Especially since it was not so long ago that ALL I ate was carbs. Pasta, Rice, Bread, and Cereal were my staple diet! It's a HUGE adjustment.

But you know what.. we are still not eating as much as we used to. And I think personally that we are doing great considering it's ONLY been 4.5 months and we are down so much weight! It's work, and it is a lifestyle change like mentioned above. If it were easy we would have been thin years ago right?

I think your doing we'll
but i use to beat my self up all the time.. my trainer kind shed a good light on me and informed me that even though you are conducting a life change doesn't mean your life is ending.. it just means we have to re-vamped our decisions food wise.. meaning sometimes we can indulge.. but at a limit.. and still maintain on the right path.. you have to think prior to surgery you would have indulge every day.. now it may be every now any then.. that is a difference!! I think the key work is change (CHANGE TAKES A PERIOD OF TIME TO PROCESS NOT OVERNIGHT!!) Don't beat your self up cause you ate.. something that we all need be in moderations (CAR BS) there's a good article on this site regarding a need of carbs but at a limit.. next time try to take a mile or two walk before you eat a holiday meal..by doing this it puts your body in a free mode of burning so..you will not retain as much calories in a meal.. also you would even have a taste for carbs as much.. you have done an awesome job with the 70lbs lost.. don't let that momentum be loss because you slipped a few days okay girlie..
Peace & LUV!!

Thanks ladies, I have absolutly not let this get me down! I have kicked my butt into gear, yesterday I started the 5 day pouch test, not because I think my pouch is not working but because reading it it said it was a good way to get back to the basics and reestablish THE RULES, and a good way to get past carb cravings, so today is day two and I feel great, also I have worked out everyday since my last post and my husband is buying me a bicycle for christmas and I look forward to riding again for the first time in 15 years. I have lost 5 lbs in 5 days and couldn't be happier about that, bringing my total weightloss to 80 lbs! How could I possibly complain at a time like this! Thanks for all the encouraging words and inspiration that this group always brings! You guys help me to keep it real and realize we are still only human, no matter how much we feel like super heroes in our new lives we are bound to slip on occasion...and thats ok!

Destiny (or someone)...

Can you please tell me more about the 5Day pouch test.  I haven't lost ANY weight in going on 4 weeks now!  I'm really worried.  If someone could please post or direct me to where I can find it...that would be super!

Thanks fellow July'ers!

Hi Ms. Gena!!...

Here's the link above.. Ms. Gena your surgery was close to mine I just got over a plateau the end of the 3 months out into the 4 month.. BELIEVE ME WHEN I SAY... WHEN THIS ONE IS OVER THE WEIGHT WILL START FALLING OFF LIKE CRAZY!!... It's dropping so fast till it's scaring me!! I just kept eating right,  drinking my water, taking my vitamins, and exercising 3 to 4 times per week.. when the weight started dropping again.. I literally lost over 16 lbs a week for three weeks!! I still think your doing okay.. your body just needs to catch-up!!

Will you share with me what is a typical day for you?...from what you eat in a typical day to what exercises you do....

I want to try and mimic it to see if it will kickstart me again...

Thanks,

Gena

I do aerobics Ms. Gena for 30 min.,

Then 2 days a week I do strength training.. but every day I make sure I get in I to 2 miles of a walk.. a simple walk anything you do different will kick it in gear..
This is my meal plan that I stick TOO!!

1. breakfast eggs scrambled /2 strips of low sodium bacon trim the fat or turkey bacon(25grams protein)
2.) Lunch meat from dinner(turkey, fish, lean pork)(15 grams protein), and green bean 1/4 cup (3 grams protein)
3.) snack 9 laughing Cow cheese low cal one wedge (5 grams protein) 5 whole wheat crackers(2 grams protein)
4.) Dinner (turkey, fish, lean pork,) 3 0z's (15 grams protein) veggies green beans, mixed veggies, or raw salad with balsamic dressing made at home(protein 3 grams)
5.) snack a healthy carb ( small apple sliced)
This plant is approximately 60 grams of protein women only need 40 grams a day.. Men 60 a day.. 1000 calories depending on how you cook your food!!
I always try to drink my eight glasses a day of water.. WATER LOAD!!
I know people say trainers cost a lot but check out 24HR fitness you would be surprise I payed 150.00 for 3 months.. now I don't need him cause I know how to maximize the equipment/ and to exercise correctly.

It will start-up up again Ms. Gena TRUST ME ON THIS!!!
