plateau?
My weight loss has slowed down dramatically. It's time for my 3 month dr's visit. I am worried about getting on the scale. The last time I saw my PCP I'd lost 0.5lbs in 2 weeks!
How is everyone else doing? Are you still exercing daily? What are you eating? Are you hungry? Somedays I hardly eat, somedays it seems like that's all I do. Does anyone else eat every 2-3 hrs? Has anyone else hit a plateau this early?
Hi there,
My weight loss has been very slow the last couple of weeks. I'm just over 3 months post op and have lost 67 pounds. I'm not complaining because I would have never lost like that without this surgery but I wi**** was more. I walk 2 miles 3 or 4 times a week. I need to work on my mental hunger. I think I'm hungry and things go into my mouth. I'm now chewing gum to keep my mouth busy. I know the docs say no gum but it's the only thing that helps me otherwise I'll be snacking. I had plateaued for 4 weeks about a month after surgery so try not to get too frustrated. My doctor told me that your body needs to catch up to what's going on so it's normal to plateau for a bit. Hang in there and good luck!!

Thank you for the encouragement.
I am down 66 lbs, 16 before surgery and 50 after. I am really grateful about that. And I am thrilled to be under 300lbs, it's been so long since I've been this weight that I can't even remember exactly how long it's been. Yet Iike you i wi**** were more. I think that I would be less upset if people weren't always asking me how much I've lost. I've been feeling embarrased to say I've only lost like 2lbs in October. But hey, I weigh less than 300lbs - so yay me! And yay to you too.
still hanging in there

What is it with everyone asking how much we've lost!!! I'm with you! I hate having to say "I didn't lose anything. I'm on a plateau". Which I seem to be on right now again. So aggrivating! Anyway, hang in there! You're right, being under 300 pounds is an amazing accomplishment!! Can't wait to be under 200 but I'm a long way off from that. :-) Keep up the good work!!

I had a long stall that I just got over going into 4 moths out.. I was a little downhearted.. but I went to my closet and could put on things.. I have not worn since 3 yrs ago( 20 tops 18/20 pants).. NOT TOO shabby.. I guess this kinda helps me think and know that I 'm still doing a good job even when the scale says other wise.. TON'S of inches came off for those 3wks that the scale didn't move...plus I was PMS'ing for 1 of those 3 wks stall 10lbs water weight UGGGH!!
I believe we all are doing awesome, our body just needs time to know how awesome we are!!
Continue SUCCESS!!

You guys rock! Keep up all the good work and thanks for the support!
I was thinking that there was something wrong with me. I expected plateau's just not this early. I figured after 6 months or so. The team said you lose most of your weight in the first 6 months, so I didn't think I'd have to worry about it until then.
And, I lost 5.5lbs. That's more than all of October!
