No, I'm not exercising; just being more active.  It's my dirty little secret.

I was exercising daily about 3 weeks out from surgery, but the past month has been nothing.  I lost my free time when school started back up.  I feel guilty about doing anything but school.  I know that's not the right attitude and my health should be #1, but that's a hard habit to break.

There is a gym nearby that goes $10 month to month and they even have a movie room where they have the lights low and they show movies on a big screen while you work on the machines.  I may just have to join and then I'll feel guilty about the $ and be sure to go and get the most out of it I can!

I have to admit that right after surgery, I didn't work out very much.  When school started I really had a hard time finding time to exercise.  About a month ago, I joined a 24/7 gym and started getting up to exercise at 5:30 before school started.  At first I only walked on the treadmil, but have gradually worked up to 30 - 45 minutes on the eliptical/bike and 30 minutes of weights three to five times a week.

If anyone finds a bargain supply of those "little blue pills" feel free to share... : -)

Ashlee, in regard to the gym, I totally understand about not wanting to spend the money for a membership.  The closest gym to me is 6 miles away @ 66.00 per month for two of us (my son wants to go too).  Sad part is, I'm afraid I'll be on my own. He told me I can't act like I know him when he's working out.  Kids!!  I guess I'm just not cool enough  :(   Heck, I have a very good treadmill setting right here in my home office and instead of typing here, I could be walking!!  No motivation though.  Ugh... Old habits are sure hard to break.....Plus, I'm not a big fan of driving in the snow.  That'll be my quickest, most convenient excuse to use to not have to go to the gym.  ugh

I like the idea of a movie room.  Hmmm, that's a great idea.  I'll have to suggest that to the strip club  :-P   lol

This is my first time posting...but I found a work out buddy. That is the ONLY way I get motivated. She drives about 10 miles / day to the gym at my apartment complex, and I've got the only key, so I HAVE to get up and work out with her. She's in the national guard, so she's already in shape, but she has to keep in shape or she won't be able to pass her PT exams (one which is this weekend). I'm not working out as hard as she is, but it is STILL kicking my butt!!!
This is my workout schedule:
wake up at 5:45 (I know, I have it easy, I only live 15 min away from work)
get to the gym at 6:15, stretch for 5 min, ride bike for 5 min,

M-W-F: the "Kari-wants-to-run-her-first-5K" workout: walk 2 min, jog 1 min...alternating for 25 min, then stretch
T-TH: lifting, I got a plan off of my insurance provider's website (Coventry). the hardest thing is working on my hips...OUCH!!!, and I end with stretching again.

There is NO way I would be doing this if it weren't for my workout buddy. I'm totally going to have to get her some kind of thank you present for sticking in there with me. I know it isn't fun for me, and I don't think she's really having too much fun. but it is nice to see a friend in the morning!

I've been doing this for about 4 weeks now, and my weightloss has slowed down a TON! But, the inches are falling off like crazy. I'm not sure if that is normal or not, but I keep telling myself that I'm building more muscle than losing fat, and that kind of motivates me.

Really, the hardest thing for me is to take my vitamins on the weekends. I didn't really think it was a big deal, BUT I found a huge ridge in my fingernail, and I've never really had those before. I heard somewhere that it was because I'm vitamin deficient, which scares me.

If you live in the Central timezone, I can give you a call when I get my butt out of bed in the morning.
