I am drinking Atkins Protein Shakes. They can be purchased at Walmart. Personally I only like the Chocolate ones. They have 15 g of Protein per shake. I also drink Isopure (GNC carries it). I have to water them down because they taste very sweet to me. But they have 40 g of protein in one drink. So I break it into 5 oz parts and sip on them through out the day with crushed ice.

I cannot do ANY powder protein shakes. They are all gross to me.

Good job! You are doing great! I know what you mean about diving into a bucket of popcorn.  I would settle for anything with some crunch! I hope that passes at some point! Keep up the good work!

I am so glad to hear everyone saying the same things!  I am 6 days post op and doing pretty good.  I to have hoped everyday that this was the right decision for me and I feel that it is.  I just cant wait until my activity gets back up.  I was working out about 8-10 a week preop so doing almost nothing is killing me!  I do pretty good with getting in my fluids and protein.  I am not counting calories only protein grams and fluids in my journal.  I dont think you have to if you are chosing wisely with protein, at least at first.  If you guys havent tried a protein called Nectar you should, it is really good and more like juice than a shake but they have shakes that are really good and you can get a sample of 19 flavors for 22.00 so its good to try so many flavors.  The Isopure drink are really good but they are expensive at 5.00 each but it is 40 grams of protein in 20 oz of fluids so you get both in.  Prosource extreme whey is good as well.  For those of you that cannot get the fluids all I can say is I personally dont have a problem but i am currently still on full fluids they only things solid I can have are eggs so im sure that will change once my diet becomes more solid.  Good to hear from so many that are going through the same thing as me.  Good luck all!!

I am 2 weeks post op and doing ok.  Have lost 4 pounds since the surgery.  Not drinking enough water caused constipation (for the very first time in my life) and boy was it awful!!!  So now I am so scared of getting constipated again that I carry a water bottle everywhere I go, to the grocery store, to my support group meeting, when I get dressed in the morning, you name it ... I've got tha****er bottle with me.  I also drink Atkins shakes (I get them right at my super market, I like the vanilla flavor) and my surgeon said to add a teaspoon of ground flax to it which will add fiber and help with the constipation.  I count calories, carbs, fiber and protein. I love a product called Any Whey.  It is by Optimum Nutrition (100% Any Whey Instantized Whey Protein).  It is virtually tasteless and you can cook with it too.  It has 17 grams of protein and only 1 carb.  I actually put it in a glass and stir it all up as I am adding my Atkins Shake.  Add some ice and it is not bad at all (and I have tried so many different shakes because I hate most of them) so I am glad I finally found something I can stomach.  This way I get in 30 grams of protein and only 2 carbs NS 11 fl oz.  I've also added the Any Whey to soups and that works equally well.  I found it at Amazon for the lowest price.  I think GNC sells it too but I am not sure.  It is hard to stay on this liquid diet (I can switch to pureed foods tomorrow) and the cravings get pretty bad.  I try not to be around people when they are eating.  I can't wait to switch tomorrow to pureed food.  I have visions of yogurt, sweet potato and scrambled eggs!!!  Well good luck to everybody!!!!
