July 15th, home now, still uncomfortable, -15 Lbs

I had RNY on the 15th and was discharged on Friday the 17th. I'm still uncomfortable and the gas pain was horrible! Now, I have minor gas pain but am still uncomfortable. I'm drinking like I'm supposed to but it makes me nervous because of the pain, I don't want to injure anything!

Is the pain normal and how long does it last? Any suggestions, etc?

Walking will help expell the gas.  Walk a little then rest, walk, rest. . .   You'll feel better soon.  Don't forget to sip water.

I also had mine on the 15th.  The gas is pretty uncomfortable.  From what I hear that is normal.  I'm sure you've heard it a million times but walking really does help!

Yeah, I got the walking part down. How are you feeling as far as pain?

  I'm sore and a little stiff and full of gas!  Pain is bearable and I am taking pain meds on a regular basis.  
 Remember if you think its not a "normal" pain, call your Dr.  There are no stupid questions when it comes to your health. What kind of pain are you having?

I also had a RNY on the 15th and was out yesterday as well.  My gas is soooo bad too and like you I am nervous to drink because of the pain. 

I hear that this pain is normal.  I found that the gas-x strips that dissolve on your tongue help soooooo much!!  Congrats on your new life!!  Good luck on your journey!
