Weight Gain

Something I forgot to mention earlier was the weight GAIN.  You may have read in other posts that it is likely that you will gain some weight while in the hospital.  I gained 6 pounds...all of which if fluids.  I'm 4 days out and am back to my pre op weight.

Tell me about it.  I was 10.7 pounds down when I entered the hospital after my one week liquid diet.  When they weighed me the day I was discharged I was 1 pound higher than prior to the diet - so in 3 days I had packed on 11.7 pounds.  One week after surgery I weighed in at my PCP's office and was 11.5 pounds down.  So I guess if you forget about the 3 days in the hospital one week after surgery I was down 13 pounds from where I started all in a 2 week span.  Since I'm now only 12 days post op I'm settling into a loss pattern.  It's just crazy what all those fluids do to you.  Take care!
