Surgery TOMORROW
My surgery is tomorrow morning. I think I'm nervous, but almost a numb feeling. I was reading other people's stories and found a couple that were on a liquid diet for 2 weeks pre op. I am only on a one day liquid diet...the day before surgery. This scares me. Has anyone ever woke up from surgery only to find out they could not do it? Is my liver going to be too large to do the surgery? I guess I am more scared at this point. I was hoping to come home after surgery, but they say I am staying overnight...no big deal though. Is all this normal or am I being a worry wort?
Chetta I don't know if this helps you out but I understand what you are going though. The days before my surgery I was a basket case. I feared that I was doing the wrong thing. I feared that I would wake up and be like what the heck have I done. But a week later and I feel fine and have no fear. The diet after is a lot easier for me after the surgery because you want less. The best think I can say is that this will be better on the other side. Also remember why we are doing this and that helped me allot. Now the liver........ My doctor told me after that I had a bigger liver but he was fine working around it..... Also they told me about a one night stay also in the hospital.. That turned into two nights but it was fine because they were just looking out for me. Good luck and I know you will be fine .. But we are all thinking about you....
Day after surgery.
I'm very ubcomfortable, but I think its getting better. I'm hoping tomorrow will be a little easier. Thanks to all for your support. I think the hardest part is sitting down and standing back up and wiping after going to the bathroom. It feels like I'm going to bust the incisions open. Dr. Schweitzer and his team were absolutely wonderful.
