Dilema

My Doc wants me to inform him if I get sick before my surgery. I am getting over a cold. I have a slight runny nose and a little bit of a scratchy throat. Not even enough of either to make me sound in the slightest funny. Should I tell him and risk him rescheduling. I think I might chicken out if I reschedule.

My surgery manual says cold, persistent cough or fever.  If you're getting over it, you're probably ok, as long as you aren't running a fever over 100 degrees or can't breathe well.  They're usually concerned about a compromised airway.  I'd call to make sure and be careful about taking any OTC meds that could interact with anesthesia.

I think poohkin is right.  It has something to do with anethesia and breathing.  Both things we don't want to mess with.  I would mention it but if you are feeling fine I think it won't be a problem.  Good Luck!!!

How are you feeling?

I know everything is going to go perfect if I've already missed you!!!

I'm doing good. THey didn't cancel and I actually had a viral cold so as soon as they started pumping me full of antibiotics I was coldless. :)
