2 week pre-op diet started.
Breakfast and lunch is easy. I'm at work so I am busy and not really thinking about food. But after work before dinner is the absolute worst!!! I am hungry or maybe just bored. I am so afraid of failing and if I can't do this simple diet how am I going to change my life? How is this WLS going to help me if I can't stop thinking of food? Just needed to vent or maybe get someone that is going through or has gone through this to slap me and get my mind right...lol.
Just stick to lean protein and a low carb type veggie. As long as you're not eating a ton of carbs, your body will get use to it and you won't feel so hungry in a few days. Drink water when you feel hungry or bored, it will fill you up and satisfy your hunger.
turkey burger patty has 30 grams of protein
grilled chicken breast
fish-- salmon, tuna, etc...
green beans
salad
You can do it! The first three days are the hardest then you'll feel much better.
When I did my pre-op diet it was 2 weeks of shakes, bars and opti-fast tomatoe soup once a day! I didn't get anything else to eat..........Isn't it funny how Drs. are different? I would have preferred your diet! I have found lately that food isn't as "important" to me now-it is actually easier to plan meals and being satisfied after eating a little bit is GREAT!!! Hang in there and you will do just fine.
