Liquid, it's what's for dinner!

:drinking1I survived Day 1 of liquids.  Honestly, it wasn't too terrible.

I kept my water bottle in hand all day.  After drinking 64 ounces I didn't have room to miss solid food too much. :drinking:

   Cooking dinner then watching my family enjoy grilled steak, corn on the cob and steamed broccoli was a bit of a test but it worked out fine.

How did everybody else do?

Bravo to you!

I don't know what I would do  if I had to cook dinner and not be able to eat it. That's tough.

It would drive me crazy.

Hi Sharon.....Congrats on getting through Day 1!

I will start my first day of pre-op liquids on Sunday.

I'm stocking up on broth, but I'm not a big fan of jello or even ice pops.  So it's gonna be protein shakes for the first day.  Farina is supposed to be okay too, so I'm looking forward to that.  Then on Monday, it's only clear liquids....that may be a challenge.  I'm gonna try to keep busy....that may help.

My surgery is one week from today.  I'm getting excited, but also nervous.

Good for you! I start my 2 week pre-op liquid diet on July 6th. So you know I am goingot enjoy my last 4th of July BBQ.  I've got my grocery list made out and will be stocking up this week so I have broths and protien drinks both at home an in the office. I'm not a big fan of water so I've got a lot of Crystal Light to help me take in my water. I'm lucky I will not have to be cooking as my husband is away during the week and we only see each other on weekends right now until the end of Oct. Which I think is good timing for me that I won't have to be cooking for him while I start my tranformation. Best of luck to you and your new make over.

I have to start on July 5th, the only thing about my liquid diet is that I am going out of town, so I will have to take my small blender so I can make my protein shakes.  Good luck to you.

Congrats! I start on Thursday so I will let you know then. I've already warned hubby that he might have to cook and/or eat out if I can't stand it. But, grilled steak, corn on the cob and steamed broccoli? I don't know if I would have that kind of will - that's my favorite meal! No fourth of July BBQ for me, either. But, it will all be worth it in the end!

Stay strong!

I've been told to have 6 "Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes", sugar-free, per day for 2 weeks.  I start mine on July 8th.  It's interesting to see that everyone's instructions are so different.  I wonder why there isn't more consistency in what Dr's recommend..
