new to the website and scheduled for July
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the website, I was referred from friends who are postop and said it helped a lot. I am scheduled for surgery July 1st, 2009.
I went through the process about 2 years ago and decided I wasn't ready. I am so much more motivated now. I am down 20lbs and need to lose more before surgery. I am struggling with the boredome eating but at least picking healthy snacks now. I have been doing great and feel great on the diet this time.
I have a huge support system but was looking for some online help for those days when I am sitting here thinking about food!!!
Well I think I will go explore the wesbite......I am looking forward to meeting lots of new friends.

Hi Jenn. I'm new too. Welcome!
This is my first time going through the process. I go to my seminar in a couple of weeks. Up here it's a long process. I have my first seminar on 6/30, then two weeks later. It goes faster once into July. My appt with the surgeon is the beginning of September. I guess that gives me a LONG time to think about this, do my research, and get ready for what I have to do to schedule the surgery.

My name is Karen and I am in Jacksonville, FL. I too am having Gastric Bypass RNY on July 1st down here at Flagler Hospital in St Augustine Florida. I have been looking to build a support system so that I can be there for others and they can be there for me during all the changes. I too am so excited that I am finally on this part of my journey. I am only worried about how I will handle the emotional high's and lows. Food has very much been an emotional crutch for me and saying good bye to such a close friend feels ok intellectually, but I am not sure what kind of fall out I will experience emotionally over the next months.
