Hi Dee!
Congrats again on your surgery date!
My doctor recommends 70-90g of protein per day. The first few days it may be hard to get down enough, so as much as your little pouch can handle. Try for 1.5 oz every 20 minutes if you can.

Hello Dee,
My surgery is July 21st. The program that I am in recommends 70 grams of protein a day but I do think that each doctor/program has different goals. Good luck on your journey!

Topic: RE: Long awaited Surgery
I am thrilled for you. I am having mine done on the 1st. I can hardly pull myself away from the computer, I just want to message everyone and hear about all.
I have had to do 5 days of clear liquids and then I can add strained creamed soups and sugar free pudding!
I have had surgery before, so am not scared of the surgery. I'm nervous but not scared.
I have been looking for a support group here as my friends that have had the surgery say that this really helps.
All my thoughts and prayers go with you on the 8th!!!!

I am just curious about how many grams of protein all the different doctors prescribe for all of you. I have heard everything from just what you eat to 80-100 grams per day. I am really curious. Let me know, please
Topic: RE: going to mexico on JULY 16TH
Lily,
Thanks for your message. My surgery is being done by Dr. Huacuz in Tijiuna. This morning I had a doctors appointment to tell him what I was doing. He is really excited for me. I was expecting a lecture about having it done in Mexico. He fully supports this and has had two family members and 7 or 8 other patients that have gone to Mexico. He said the insurance companies just make it impossable to have it done here. I concur!!!!
I have been able to add strained creamed soups and sugar free pudding....never tasted anything so good in my life!!!!
I have talked to an RN here in Arizona that had hers done by your doctor and she is thrilled with her results.
Please stay in touch. I will email you as soon as get back to let you know how it went.
I am excited for you and will give you any pointers or new info I receive.
Your Mexico buddy, Dee
