How are you doing on your diet? Are you having any problems being faithful? Good luck!

Topic: RE: Surgery in 10 Hours... Cant Sleep... Worried About Liquid Diet
Mine is scheduled for today also. I consider myself lucky in that my surgeon didn't require the pre-op liquid diet. I'm sure that the post op liquid diet will be so much easier than the pre-op simply because it's a HAVE too or surgery again. I'm looking forward to 2 oz of ensure plus filling me up for my meals. I have all my protein powder, dry milk and instant breakfasts waiting for me. I know I'm going to miss chewing for these couple weeks but what's a couple weeks in the long view. So don't beat yourself up or second guess everything. The surgeon has faith in you, you should too. I know you can do it.

Topic: Surgery in 10 Hours... Cant Sleep... Worried About Liquid Diet
Surgery is scheduled for 11AM, tomorrow AM and I cant sleep. Ironically, I'm not nervous or even anxious about the surgery, I'm worried that the surgeon will cancel it because I didnt follow the 2 week liquid diet he demanded. It's my own fault and I'm beating myself up for it. I've completely researched the post op diet and thought I was ready for it but now I'm questioning myself since I cant even follow the 2 pre-op week liquid diet.

Hi Beth, I have been on the "liquid diet" for a couple weeks, only thing is it was so hard for me to keep from cheating. My surgery is scheduled for 11AM tomorrow morning and now I'm freaking out because I didnt lose the weight I was instructed to. I know I have to prepare for the worst (surgeon cancelling or rescheduling my surgery because I didnt comply with his instructions). Do yourself a favor and stick to the doctors orders or you'll end up like me... unable to get a peaceful night of sleep the night before surgery and fearing for the worst.

Topic: Proten Sample Website!!!
I thought I would share with you all- I just got my samples from Syntrax.com today. They are the makers of Nectar and have umpteen million different flavors from Roadside Lemonade to Chocolate Truffle. I sent them an email on the "Contact Us" section explaining I was having RNY and would like to try thier product. They sent me a half dozen samples and a price list. They were very nice!

OH beth...I totally hear you! I have been miserable on mine! Surgery for me is next Monday. I have cheated twice, but I made sure they were with high protein food and not much. I think our "HEAD" hunger is getting the best of us! I will keep you in my thoughts as we fight this battle together! GOOD LUCK!

Hi Ruth! I feel ya. You're not alone. I start my pre-op diet next Monday and let me tell ya, I'm eating really badly right now. And I think it is because I know that I won't be able to after the surgery. My last meal b4 the diet will probably include a cupcake from Sprinkles. LOL.
