I have completed several of my pre-op appointments and only have the following left: Dietitian, physical therapy, nurse practitioner and psychologist ~ all which will be completed July 15th. What should I expect next for those of you who have already been through it?

My Dr. would not even schedule surgery until we hear from the insurance. I am surprised yours scheduled surgery without prior approval. Most insurance companies I thought required you to be 100 pounds over weight buth things are always changing. Judy

Hello! You may already be at your pre-op, but if not, here's what I had to doL My surgery date is 7-14 as well and I had my pre-op on 7/1. I was there for about 4 hours. I had a chest x-ray, ultrasound, blood work, urinalysis, and then I met with a respiratory therapist (they help teach you how to breathe more effectively after surgery), and also had my first nutrition class. Finally I met with my doctor. So it was really a lot of test and information in that 4 hours.

first of all, get you a 8 or 10 cup water jug. and fill it up drink that and NOTHING ELSE!, Eat no NO SWEETs, if you have to eat fried food eat very little cut back, and eat off a saucer not a plate. lets start small and take one day at a time i will check on you tomorrow.
