STUPID BLUE CROSS/BLUE SHIELD!!!!!!!
I'M 550LBS AND THEY SAID I WAS TOO HEAVY FOR BYPASS SURGERY AND THAT IT WAS "EXPERIMENTAL" SURGERY FOR SOMEONE THAT HEAVY. THIS IS, OF COURSE, DOUBLE SPEAK FOR "EHH......WE JUST DON'T FEEL LIKE PAYING FOR IT." I LOVE HOW THEY GET TO MAKE THEIR OWN RULES AND THEY NEVER GET CHECKED FOR IT!

Topic: Can I have a drink?
I am 3 months post RNY, and am getting together with some friends next weekend that I haven't seen in a while. I rarely drink alcohol(especially now) but would love to have one or two over the weekend. I hear conflicting things about drinking; I know it hits you faster. I don't intend to have more than one or two, nor will I be driving. Can anyone tell about their experiences with having a drink? Thanks!

Congratulations to everyone that is soon to start a new life. I had my surgery done last Tuesday. I am feeling so much better and getting my energy back. I kinda envy you younger people as you recovered a little faster! I am so excited about the weight loss...I have already lost 21 pounds including the pre-op loss. People are starting to really notice the weight loss.....checker at the store said,"Wow, you must have just got back from vacation." Hopefully in the next few weeks they will realize that I'm losing weight!!!!
So chin up everyone and welcome to a new life!

Hi Jodie,
Thanks for your well wishes!
My surgeon is Robert Marvin. Where does your friend work? Alvin is such a small town...
I'm needing to lose 80 lbs which is a little overwhelming but I like that fact that I will feel full.
Good luck with your surgery!

You can buy samples at www.vitalady.com for 1.99 and then find out what you like first before spending a lot on the large container. I hear the Champion Chocolate Stax is good. I personally like EAS Whey Protein Vanilla. That way I can mix DaVinci Syrup's (SF) in them and make all sorts of different flavors. Plus...Walmart sells a SF Chocolate Syrup (like Hersheys) that taste good in the protein shake too! My surgery is July 14. Just a few more days!
