Topic: Surgery July 15th
Hello. I am scared and excited at the same time. I am still questioning myself about the decision to have surgery. My veins are giving out. I have edema and am on a water pill, so I know if I don't lose the weight, worse things are going to come. Is it normal to question whether or not you should have the surgery?

Topic: RE: Surgery date 10-Excited and nervous
Leslie: My friend works at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She is in the youth ministry there. She had Dr. Felix Spiegel. I wish I needed to lose 80lbs but I need to lose 150. I went walking today and am drinking my protein drink before i relax and go to bed.
Good luck tomorrow. My prayers are with you. I will pray for a steady hand for the surgeon and for you to have a quick recovery and lose all the weight you want and need to.
Let me know how you feel. Keep in touch.

Topic: RE: What are your daily Menus like??
I had surgery a week ago tomorrow. This is what I had to eat/drink today:
12-oz of decaf muscatel tea (took me about 3-4 hours to drink it all)
6-oz of protein shake (took about an hour to drink)
6-oz of strained beef and veggie soup (again, took about an hour to drink)
I'm currently working on my second glass of decaf tea, and will have another protein shake in about 15 minutes. Hopefully I'll manage to get a third shake in sometime around 9pm tonight.
Hope that helps!

My surgery date is the same as yours. I'm both nervous and excited. I have been working on this since 2-8-08, it takes a long time getting through all the tests and paperwork I can't believe the time is almost here. Mine is 7:30 am what a way to start a new week. Best of luck and will probably be talking to you again.
Topic: Pre-Op Liquid Diet
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what type of foods you are able to eat for your Pre-Op Liquid Diet. I know I had a sheet one time but I can't seem to find it. I have decided to go on it right now because I meet with another surgeon in 2 weeks. I want to prove to him how much I want/need the surgery. I want to be ready in case he can do it right away. So far I have just been eating Sugar Free pudding and Jell-O. I also have been drinking lots of water and protein drinks in 1% Milk.
Thank you for any help. It is very much appreciated. :D
