Topic: Surgery 7/14/08
I had surgery about 1 week ago now and am still in a lot of pain. I want to be able to exercise and at least walk bit but I still have a sharp pain in my mid left side of my stomach and in the back of that same area. I also have not not a BM, is that normal. I am on clear liquids and have been since the day before surgery. I thought I should be feeling better by now?????

Thanks for your kind words, Vickie. I did have the RNY. I'll check out that board. I hope I didn't scare you about your surgery. I'm just having a rougher than normal time of it. I'm sure it will get better. My surgeon took me off the antibiotic yesterday, and that's what was making me sick. I feel better today, and hopefully, am on the mend. I appreciate your kind thoughts more than you know...

I am so sorry to hear of your pain and the abcess. I will praying for a better recovery for you. Have you told the surgeon you can't hold anything down? People on the site have said that most do have a period of regret, and I am sure that if I were having the issues you are , I would feel the same way. Can't say I totally understand as I will not have surgery until the 24th. Did you have RNY? Maybe someone on that board will have some helpful ideas? Hang in there.

Topic: Lap band Port 2 days post op
I am 2 days out and I still have a lot of gas I used the gas-x strips which has work somewhat. However, I can see my port under my skin without even feeling for it? Has anyone else had this experience. When I lift my beasts up the port is right there. It look weird. Is this normal?
2. I have pain in my shoulder the nurse and everyone explained it's gas, What to do? I been walking all day?
3. Can someone tell me if I can have applesause 2 days post op ?
4. I drank 12 0z of diet snapple is this normal 2 days post op? I even feel I can drink more.

I'm having a lot of trouble too. I have the depression somewhat but mostly I am just so weak and tired I can hardly move. I agree some moveemnt and getting out would be good, but I feel close to passing out!

I just don't feel like I can do this anymore. I'm at my wit's end. I had surgery on July 2, all went well. Then, I developed an abcess and infection, which now my husband needs to pack everyday (completley gross) and I feel nausuaus from the antibiotic and tired from the infection everyday. I try to walk and do things, but I'm so sick. I'm just sick of feeling sick! I really regret this right now. I know that's horrible to say, but I do. I'm not able to keep down the protien or vitamin, just iced tea and water. I just can't stand feeling so sick all the time. I wish I'd never done this.

If you are asking what is AR Rehab? All I have been told is that a lady where I live was able to get assistance from Arkansas Rehab. I did know this person. She was very sick (cancer) and I really did not want to bother her with this question. Sadly enough she died this week. A really sweet person. Anyway, I was hoping someone might know. It is Arkansas Rehab. But when I check the web all it shows is drug or alchol rehab. Can anyone help. My insurance will not change its mind no matter what. My husband is out of work due to a closing of the sawmill he had worked in for 32 years, and wouldn't you know it, but his insurance, which I was on, probably would have paid, they did not have an exclusion, but Cobra is too high for us to afford right now. Cash is out, and our credit has not been good for a while. Anyway enough of that, I just thought someone might have heard of this website.
