I'm glad to hear that it's going better today! It's really a case of trial and error sometimes. I've been craving mac and cheese and on my list it says I can have a little pasta, so today I had about 1/4 cup of Kraft Mac and Cheese with diced ham (which is great in protein). It was fabulous! Keep up the good work!

Hope you feel better soon. I am 8 days post op and I have a bit of energy, but I'm very short tempered and having a lot of "phantom" hunger cravings. I just want something solid to eat! Have you walked at all? It takes all my energy, but I try to get in at least two short walks a day - and I always feel better afterwards.

I posted this on the CA board too, but need some support right about now... I am having a very hard couple of days. I want to just eat, eat, eat. I miss food, I'm doubting my choices. I'm down 12 pounds, sticking to Stage 2 of the diet right now and just want to flippin' CHEW something. I have that "jumping out of my skin" feeling. Is all of this normal? However, I did go on a fantastic walk today and I'm down 11 pounds. Very exciting. I snap easily at my husband and son.... I don't like this, please tell me this will pass!!!!!!!!!????? Tasha

Hi Susan, Thanks for replying. I am starting my second week. Believe me I am not forcing myself at all. I did get most of them down and I did feel full. The two soft scramble eggs are on my list for this section of time. I've done real well today. Everything is staying down real good.

Hi Louise. Welcome and congratulations! I wasn't allowed to eat eggs (or any "soft" foods) till after week 2. I know different nutritionists have different schedules, but you may want to check to be sure that you're supposed to be trying them already. How much egg are you trying to eat? Don't push yourself at first. My nut. said to stop as soon as I feel full--so if you take 1 or 2 small bites of egg to begin with, then can't go on, that's fine. Don't push yourself. She also said to start with only 1 "soft food" meal a day (and continue on liquids/puree for the others). Take your time and add things gradually. If you can't keep something down, don't force yourself to eat it. Good luck!

I am 8 days post opt. I had my surgery on July 29th. I felt the same way but it passed in a couple of days. I feel great today. This is my first day eating and I can't get the two scrambled eggs down. Hope you feel better soon.

Most start out walking mostly because we are still to big to do much else. It is a chore because your body is in shock and wants to crawl in a cave and lick these new wounds. The farther out you get you might try the pool when the doctors says it's ok. You have to be extremely careful not to try doing weight machines till your insides are pretty healed and you get the go ahead. Keep building up your time. If you can do it carry some light hand weights if you want and pump it when your walking. But at this point walking and increasing your time is really good for now.
