Topic: No rectriction gained 3 lbs!!!
I just feel like a total loser. I just cant seem to not eat or be hungry. I feel like I start out great but the end of the day I have snacked myself crazy. I dont know how to eat right or what to eat, i feel lost. I wish I had the rectriction I had after surgery. That was great I actually felt in control. I was able to eat a small amount and forget about eating for the next 4-5 hours, now If I eat with in 2 hours Im hungry sometimes sooner. Cant stand it. I have felt out of control for so long thats all I desire.

Hi Rachel & Betty! I have a really pathetic scale so I can't tell if it's the scale or if I truly haven't lost much weight since my initial 16 lbs after surgery. I'm weighing & measuring & counting calories and my protein so I know I have to loose no matter what the scale says, but I'm getting scared it isn't going to work for me. (-because all my other diet attempts failed, surely this one will too? The "I'm fated to be a fattie"-syndome?) I wish I had a support group here in Illinois. (Had my surgery in NYC) Unfortunately, my nutrition support group won't start for another month. As for the protein, Rachel, I bought Unjury chocolate and I kinda like the way it tastes in skim milk. I started with GNC whey protein but it was so thick; Unjury is ground finer. One thing I can say about this is I am beginning to love being in control of what I put in my mouth. I used to go on automatic, eating food in front of the tv at night (-me too, Betty) so it's really nice not to feel the need to do that anymore. Have either of you gone back to work or your normal flow of life yet? Just curious....N

Hi Nina ~ thanks for your post. I'm feeling the same way -- lonely for food. I also can't believe I did this. Even though I'm losing everyday and my skirts seem to have gotten longer all by themselves, it isn't quite real yet somehow... I think I'll make myself some soup to puree -- that would be a nice change. Are you also taking protein supplements? I did fine with them at first, but am getting a little tired of them about now... Great to have the surgery over with though, isn't it?? Rachel

My NUT. suggested chili and I've been really loving it! It's high in protein and usually has vegetable servings as well. If you're not a cook (I know I'm not...) there are some packaged types that are yummy. I've also been told that Wendy's chili is good for WLS people, but I haven't tried that yet. Good luck!

Topic: Body pain!
The past few days, I've been getting random/shooting aches and pains at various points in my body--shoulders, arms, thighs, back, legs... Is anyone else experiencing this? Could it be my body adjusting to new hormone levels and weight loss? Any other thoughts or wisdom? Thanks!

My Lapband surgery was July 31, 2008. I've been trying my best to follow all instructions. Yet lately my energy level is way low. I went out on yesterday - made 4 stops and was to exhausted to get out of the car upon arriving at home. What gives? I did eat the recommended foods and I am drinking 64 oz of liquids. Why do I not have energy?

I also had surgery on the 29th. I'm still on clear liquids and protein for 2 more weeks. That's fine. Emotions are going crazy...I am crying over everything! I got my anti-depressants adjusted today...yea!

I had my surgery the same day as you . I lost 23 pounds the first two weeks and last week not one single pound, but my cloths feel better. I was told to just not get on the scale and it will move. I completely understand how you feel. With what we are eating I think the body is just adjusting.

Hi Nina, I had my surgery on July 28th. It was done is Kansas City MO. at St. Luke's hospital, I had Dr. Price. He is a great doctor. I live about 45 miniutes from there. It is crazy just how much we depend on food. Like at this point I will watch t.v. and I will want to eat even though there is no room for anything to fit. It is crazy. I am proud of you for getting out and about. Hopefullly I will here from you again soon...Have a great day!

I had surgery on July 28th. My Mom made me loster quishe ( I know I totally spelled that wrong) 1 egg beaten thoroughly 1 8 OZ. pack of trans ocean lobster classic chunk style mix together divide into three parts place is cupcake bowls (spray with Pam) top with small amount of non-fat or low-fat white cheese bake for 20 min, at 350 degrees It sounds a little wierd but it is hella good, just make sure to chew thoroughly. On cupcake size is a serving. I hope that helps a little!! Joanie
