I too want to thank you, I read the boards and at times I become terrified that it has been a bad decision. I have many co morbids, and it was at the advise of my cardio doctor to have weight loss surgery. I am having RNY in August, my surgeon is on vacation the entire month of July and I am waiting on him...he is the best!! Thanks again, I do have one question what proteins did you use. I will do what they say about meds so I am really interested in how to get in all of the protein necessary to make my recovery easier. Did you exercise before surgery, I am currently at 239 lbs, 5'3" and find it difficult - maybe it is an excuse?! I know I must and will do what it takes, I cannot fail. Hello, I had a hard time finding this message, yes I have cardio problems. Congestive heart failure, with an rejection fraction of 16 at one time in the hospital (normal is 60).I have high BP, sleep apena, diebetes out of control, high chol...but it was my cardio doctor that recommended the surgery. I am not the youngest person to ever have this surgery and my cardio did a complete work up and wrote a 6 page letter to my surgeon why with my co morbids I need this surgery to help my longevity and help cure my problems. My family was opposed until my husband and I met with the surgeon (he has been named top in the state and many times city where I live) and teaches at the large hospital where I am having this surgery. I have two cardio recommendations and am going forward with the surgery. I have two more nut appointments and everything is in place for the insurance company. I will be ready in July but my surgeon will out on vacation so I am waiting until August. I am thrilled at the possibility of being healthier. My BMI is 41 not over the top, but I need to do this to relieve the extra work my heart does to keep me going. It is going to be hard but I am so exhausted all of the time it can do nothing but improve my life. I have a very stressful job and that adds the tension. I hope you are making the right decision I just wish you had your families support, I think that is important. Maybe they will go meet your surgeon so he can explain the health benefits. I cannot speak for your cardio I guess he knows your case but I am surprised they will perform the surgery without his approval. Good Luck, if you need to talk, I am Nancygp. Sincerely,

July 7 is the day that I am getting "sleeved" I can't believe that it is fast approaching. I have been on a list for the past three years. I decided that this year was for me and made an appointment to demand that I wanted it done soon. Well, no demanding necessary, he scheduled me right there and then. I will be on the losing bench with you!
