Topic: I have A Date With A Surgeon
On July 21st at 7:30 A.M. I will officially have a date with a very good surgeon. He has had many patients and none to very few with complications. I'm so excited I just really don't know what to do with myself, I will at last be even more healthier than I am already. I have lost 68.8 pounds, but still weighing over 300 pounds preop and I am hoping to get to or well below my goal weight of 190 pounds. I weighed 190 pounds when I was a 5th grader. It doesn't even really matter as long as I am healthier.

Topic: Yay! Surgery date is July 1st.
Starting off the month of July with a big bang of my own. I will be banded on Tuesday, July 1st at the Cleveland Clinic, and my surgeon will be Dr. Philip Schauer. I still have a lot to do to prepare for my surgery...like an 800 calorie liquid diet for 2 weeks prior to surgery, stopping my coumadin blood thinner and going onto the lovenox injections 7 days before surgery, and the "God awful" bowel prep 2 days before. God permitting, this will be the start of my healthier and thinner life. Susie

Hi All,
I am scheduled for my lapband surgery on July 16 at Summa Akron City by Dr. Z. I am on my 6 week pre-op liquid diet. It's going OK and not as bad as I had imagined. Food still looks and smells so good! Looking for other guys going through the process in about the same timeframe to be support buddies. My profile has most of my personal details. I'm a 24 year old male from Lafayette, LA. I'm looking for a surgery buddy. I might be moving to Tulsa, OK soon, so it doesn't matter where you're from. My date is July 14th with a slight possibility of moving it up to the 7th if there's a cancellation. I'm really excited, but I need someone around my age that's going through the same sociophysical things that I am. I prefer a Christian as I believe that God will help me through this as much as any buddy, so if you think the same way, and are looking for someone to encourage and be encouraged by, drop a message my way. I'm very nervous about this so....yeah.

My name is Ann and my surgery date is also July 16, one day after my 7th wedding anniversary. I am having my surgery in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at the Barix Clinics with Dr. Poplawski. Like all of you, I am so excited to get this started. Is anyone else having surgery in Ypsi? I'm just looking forward to having more energy, so I won't feel like sleeping all the time, and especially getting a job. I'm just so tired of being home alone all day, everyday.

Hi All,
Just want to say thanks for the replies. I'm scheduled but have to get my nutrition eval before the insurance company gets the request. Wish me luck on getting approval before my surgery date. It's so great to know that there are others going through this at the same time as me.

I'm marking you down as one of my friends. I seem to be totally preoccupied with the surgery daily. Although I'm not looking forward to starting a liquid diet for two weeks.
