Checking In with the 7/08rs
I had my surgery 7/25/08 and am down 81lbs (from my highest weight). My weight loss has really slowed but the inches are coming off too. I'm still trying to figure out what to eat. I'm not hungry ever but don't have a sensation of fullness either. I have residual numbness over the center of my stomach. The doctor said a nerve probably got cut and doesn't know if I'll get the feeling back or not. I try to watch portion sizes since I don't have a full sensation. It's nice to read what others are doing that had surgery around same time as me. :-)

I had surgery on 7/3, and am currently down 77 pounds. I've been overing at 179 for a good two weeks now, but I've gotten used to that. I lose three pounds or so, then stay the same for a couple of weeks, then lose another three pounds, then stall again. Strange.
So far my labs have been excellent, and I've been doing really well with my protein. I haven't had problems with food getting "stuck" or having to yak for at least a month or two, which is nice.
My biggest struggles so far have been keeping from grazing, especially at night. At work I have a good routine down as to when I eat (I like to stay on a strict schedule food-wise). But after dinner, I'm usually feeling snacky, and nothing ever sounds good. I wind up with yogurt or an apple and peanut butter, but generally feel unsatisfied. Oh well, could be worse right?

The New Year is looking good after yesterday!! I was so emotional watching everything in Washington. I was even emotional watching the new Prez dance with his wife!
I hope that 2009 brings many wonderful things!!

I love this quote from Woody Allen...........
"I'm not afraid to die. I just don't want to be there when it happens".

Today I'm 5 pounds below original goal and have lost 110 pounds. No more nausea, but my hair is still a mess from 5 months of starvation. My family doctor told me to sip a Glucerna all day to avoid the nausea, and that seemed to work. That started 2 weeks after my 8 days back in the hospital on TPN! I feel GREAT and wish the same to all.
