I had surgery July 15th and I lost 18 pounds during my first week but I have stayed the same during my 2nd week. Anyone else had this problem? I get 66 to 90 proteins a day and I drink alot of water. What should I do??? HELP.

Hey, don't panic......have you taken your measurments? I had one week when I didn't lose anything but lost 1 in. around my waist and a couple more inches on legs and arms! Try that!!!

no I have not taken any measurements but I should have. I feel like I have lost and it seems like I can see a little weight gone but no movement of the scale sickens me, it makes me feel like I will fail at this too.

Your doctor would tell you that this is completely normal. I'm three weeks out and lost 1.8 lbs. the second week. I was ready for that because everyone at the bariatric center warned me. I lost 24 pounds the first week and was told it was 1/2 water and 1/2 fat, so the second week it was a big difference. Now the third week, the scales is playing with me, just like on a regular diet, down 2, up 1, down another 2...and don't dare look at it after breakfast! I get a little scared too that I won't lose my weight, that somehow I will manage to sabotage myself...but then I'm only able to eat 1/4 cup of cottage cheese for breakfast, and I realize that this will work pretty much without my interference. Isn't it wonderful to be free from hunger? Keep the faith; you're being reborn.

I lost 17 lbs the first week and have since gained back almost 10 lbs in the last 3 weeks. Doctor told me not to worry as everyone's body responds to weight loss in different ways. I am just waiting for my first fill that will hopefully help me get back on track.

I had my surgery the same day as you . I lost 23 pounds the first two weeks and last week not one single pound, but my cloths feel better. I was told to just not get on the scale and it will move. I completely understand how you feel. With what we are eating I think the body is just adjusting.

I had my surgery on July 1, the first week I lost 10#, then slowly continued until I was out 4 weeks post op, I stayed the same for almost two weeks. I did have to go to ER due to dehydration and lacking minerals and vitamins. It was very scary. I am now 10 weeks post op and have lost 33#. I feel very discouraged and weight myself 3-4 times a day. I have tried the not eating, starvation, but my physician told me it was only hurting my weight loss. I have a total of 80# to lose. Is anyone else having a slow weight loss? CJK
