rescheduled surgery date

I had a manometry done today, otherwise known as an endoscopy. (very unpleasant experience) This test was due to an abnormality in my upper GI pre-op testing. My surgery was scheduled for Thursday July, 31st and when I called today Monday July 28th I was told "Oh Jennifer we are going to have to postpone your surgery until August 12th due to a meeting the surgeon has to attend" 1. Is this normal? Should I worry? 2. Am I wrong to consider this inconciderate?

Oh Jennifer I'm SO SORRY......That's really got to suck.........My surgery is Wedesday..And I'm sooooooo scared there are going to do the same thing to meeeee....YES it is normal.....I've herd other people say its happen to them........and ur right i think it is INCONCIDERATE toooo

Jennifer, I happened to me, my inital surgery was scheduled for July 1st, and at 2pm the day before the hospital called and cancelled my surgery due to no hospital bed in ICU for me. Hospital policy is that they can't cancel me twice. I was soooo upset and mad, but after a few hours I calmed down and figured it was ment to be for some reason, My new date is this thursday 7/31. Your time will fly by quick it did for me. Good Luck!!!
