FEELING REALLY DISCOURAGED

I have just recently started considering having gastric bypass surgery. I havn't yet been able to speak with my doctor (his office is closed until mid-August) about it but have done some research on my own. My sister had this surgery done about 1 1/2 years ago now in Quebec (she went to a private clinic and paid for it). Unfortunately, I am not in a financial situation to go to a private clinic. I am trying to find out information on current wait list times in Alberta (with any of the available sugerons). I am finding that some people say they waited five years while some only wait a year. I was just hoping that someone might have some current information about this! Thanks so much!!!!!
