I just got scared.

Hello is there any one 34 years of age who has had bypass? If so please let me know because i have not been overweight all my life i started gaining weight after my third child but not i can't seen to loose it. And in the last 5 years i have had a lot of health problems will that make having this done harder on me? Please someone HELP because now i am scard to death.

Hi Fawana, I was 36 when I had my bypass. I was not over weight until after my third child and then I went on phen-fen. When I was taken off of it, I ballooned and got out of contol. My husband is military and always deployed or on field problems and so I ate out of boredom. In Dec 2005 I found out I was pre diabetic and I also had a condition known as vasculitis (my legs would swell and break out in red pin dots all over. The doctor recommended I have gastric and I was scared to death. Fawana, it was the best decision EVER! Depending on your helath problems, you should be okay. Good Luck!

I was in my late, late 30's and it is the best decision I have every made and I would do it again.

Well I am 35 and I just had surgery July 15th. I had just been diagnosed as diabetic, I had highblood pressure, PCOS and thyroid problems. Surgery went great and I was scared I almost chickened out but now I am so glad to have done it and be on the losing side now.

Hi there I am 34 years old and had my lap RNY July 23. I am feeling wonderful! I left the hospital without my blood pressure pills and diabetes pills. I also have been very fortunate to not have any complications. I did gain 25 lbs of fluid while I was in the hospital, but I have since lost that plus 13 lbs. I am glad I did it now and didn't wait any longer. Good luck
