I just can't...

I just don't feel like I can do this anymore. I'm at my wit's end. I had surgery on July 2, all went well. Then, I developed an abcess and infection, which now my husband needs to pack everyday (completley gross) and I feel nausuaus from the antibiotic and tired from the infection everyday. I try to walk and do things, but I'm so sick. I'm just sick of feeling sick! I really regret this right now. I know that's horrible to say, but I do. I'm not able to keep down the protien or vitamin, just iced tea and water. I just can't stand feeling so sick all the time. I wish I'd never done this. Jenn

Jenn, I am so sorry to hear of your pain and the abcess. I will praying for a better recovery for you. Have you told the surgeon you can't hold anything down? People on the site have said that most do have a period of regret, and I am sure that if I were having the issues you are , I would feel the same way. Can't say I totally understand as I will not have surgery until the 24th. Did you have RNY? Maybe someone on that board will have some helpful ideas? Hang in there. Vickie

Thanks for your kind words, Vickie. I did have the RNY. I'll check out that board. I hope I didn't scare you about your surgery. I'm just having a rougher than normal time of it. I'm sure it will get better. My surgeon took me off the antibiotic yesterday, and that's what was making me sick. I feel better today, and hopefully, am on the mend. I appreciate your kind thoughts more than you know...

I am so glad to hear you are feeling a little better today. You didn't scare me, I read the boards alot and I know that at times things can be very tough. Everyone says that this will be a real roller coaster ride. I am a diabetic and I know that this wil help me in the long run. I'll be thinking about you. Don't hesitate to message me if you need someone to talk to. Vickie

Jenn, theres no turning back now. I feel for you with the abcess and the infection. I know a couple of the ladies at the NC board went through this also. Unfortunately it happens to a few and takes a while to heal. As far as your feelings it is very normal to have regrets espically under such stress of the surgery and the infection. I,m sure with your doctors help and support from those at the board you'll get through this. Keep posting your feelings, it's ok! Your exhausted phiscally and mentally. Your going through withdrawls from surgery, anastia, the infection, feeling of helplessness and starting a new life which at the moment is not comforted by foods. SO yes you are tired and lost. Keep your head up girl, but know it's ok to feel this way, Really ok!! You just started so don't stress your vitamins to much or not all the protein. It is important to have the water though. You still have stores of vitamins in your cells, its in the long run that vitamin deffinces become an issue if you don't ever take them and eat right. Have you tried the special k protein water yet? You do need some protein to help fight the infection though I'm sure the medicine will do it's part. GNC also carries Isopure, which I didn't care for but some did and protein bullets. Remember Whey protein is what we absorb best and with RNY bypass you can only absorb so much protein at a time so don't do it all in one drink even if you could. One tube has 42 grams and another one has 24 I believe, remember to divided it up. Take it easy and rest but do try to get some walking in, just slow. Drink as much water as you can but don't worry about the blues this too will pass. I promise in a few weeks you'll feel much better. If you'd like post over to the NC board about this, I'm sure you'll get alot of response. Just copy your post over there. We're a pretty support bunch there. Keep your head up and follow your Doctors directions and give that husband a hugg for being so supportive. I bet he has been one scared Hubby.
