Ok, its been awhile since I've been on here... I sort of lost track of my goals last year, and I lost my insurance coverage for about 8 months, and didn't get a band adjustment for about a year! So you know how that goes!! I've pretty much sabatoged all my hard work... now I have to start all over again!! I finally got my insurance back, and I just got my band adjusted last Tuesday.. but I'm already screwing up. My surgeon put me back on the liquid diet and said that by my next appointment in 8 weeks, I should be down as much as 30 pounds!!! I just can't control my appetite. I eat even when I'm not even hungry! Plus, my family doesn't really help much either. I told them I have to be on a liquid diet, and they are constantly asking me if I want to eat this or that.. usually high fat, fried foods. I don't want to be rude to them, but I don't know any other way. I can never say no. I wake up with good intentions but by the middle of the day,.. I self destruct. I don't know if this is normal behavior, or if anybody else is going through this. All I know is, I wish there was a way I could stop it. I really want to get back on track and get healthy. Does anybody have any advice about sticking to the liquid diet?? I bought some protein shakes, but I haven't had success with not eating after I drink them . . I've thought about asking my doctor if they could put me on an appetite supressant like phentermine or something,.. but I'm really not crazy about taking diet pills. Does anybody have any suggestions about how to keep myself motivated?? I need all the help I can get, so any advice would be great!!!!! God bless everyone!!!

first of all, get you a 8 or 10 cup water jug. and fill it up drink that and NOTHING ELSE!, Eat no NO SWEETs, if you have to eat fried food eat very little cut back, and eat off a saucer not a plate. lets start small and take one day at a time i will check on you tomorrow.

You are depressed as well as tired...you need to get involved in a support group and right now...right now you feel like giving up because it's easier. The family is happier with your failure...they don't feel so bad having to live up to your new body and health..there are so many people out there that would kill to have a second chance ... so don't give up now...if you are still hungry you need to drink warm beef broth and eat sugar free jello...but put down all carbs for two weeks...you know what that means...you have to kill the carbohydrate demons....so low carb it and now...

My suggestion:is to write down why you got the lapband in the first place? WEre tired all the time, were you knees hurting, did you have diabetes, right it all down. Even to the point of not being able to see your ankles what ever it might be. -then write down why you want and need to lose weight - then write down a response to the questions that your family and friends ask you: example: Do you want a piece of fried chicken? have a response ready. so you know ahead of time. - something like: I could really use your support, or thanks for offerring I ate already. You have to come up with a line that will be really good. Not hurtful, but where they will think twice. I am in the process of doing all of the above so that when i get to the point where I want to falter and forget about "this tool" I can look at what I wrote down. If you'd like, I am having my surgery next week. Do you want to do the liquids with me like you had to do when you first had surgery? We can do it together and you can get back on track. Jodie
