I don't know what happen, but life's busy-ness got the better of my posting!!
I had my 1 year check up one month late because of scheduling issues. I was down 130# and everyone was VERY happy (especially me!) My blood work was not as good. My iron is terrible, I am not making it or storing it or absorbing it...no wonder I have been tired! SO I am on mega doses of iron and made dietary changes and have to have it rechecked in Oct. Meanwhile all the other blood stats were fantastic. I hope this works! I don't want to have to get injections or transfusions!!!!
Meanwhile as of today hear are my stats:
DOS: 328#
Today: 195#
Pounds lost: 133
I spoke to my Dr. and my NUT about a goal weight and they said that I have already met their goal and anything from here on is bonus...I am hoping for 150-160#. I am still losing regularly enough that I feel anything is possible. For me the things that have worked the best is accurate food logging, lots of exercise, and commitment. My ideal weight according to charts is 133#!!! PLEEEAASSE~!
Happy Holiday Monday to all,

Topic: RE: guilt and worry
A few things you said really resonated with me.
First of all, what you're experiencing isn't that uncommon. The new body that WLS surgery gives to us sometimes comes with a new way of thinking and a new way of seeing ourselves that can be uncomfotable.
The weight may go away, but you will have to do some work on your head. I know I have.
Take this time to focus on you, and getting used to your new life. No more guilt!!! Because of this surgery you are granted a new healthier life, you will be around for many years to come because you are winning over obesity. You are valuable, you are loved, and YOU ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY YOU SPENT!!!
I don't like my skin either. My boobs are sad, and I have mud-flaps between my thighs. Plastics will be in my future someday, but I still have about 50-60 pounds to lose. So what.... I can climb stairs, I can run, I swim, I buy normal size clothes, I fit in chairs with arms, I can do lots of things I never dreamed of.
I still have issues with food, and I've found great comfort in talking to a professional about it. I don't overeat, I don't eat enough!! I have this irrational fear that I will gain the weight back and I starve myself....I'm a borderline chubby anorexic!!
You are not in this alone and I'm glad you posted, get connected, get support and don't shy away from dealing with your issues. You're on the right track!! Good luck to you!!! :)

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Topic: RE: One year check up
Hey - Congrats on the great numbers~! I have a question for you - my surgeon has me on 2 BA calciums (wild cherry)
Is there a reason to take 4? I'm curious and wanting to make sure I take enough...
As for the question on iron - I take 3 BA passion fruit irons a day - surgeon said as long as i'm menstruating to take 3, after menop, i can go to 2... and i don't have any problems with constipation or anything...and it tastes good! Shock!
heh.
Thanks for info on calcium!

Topic: RE: 5-day Pouch Test beginning Monday...anyone wanna join?
Hi, Nanette! I started the Pouch test yesterday, wasn't ready for last week! Did do a couple of days and really noticed getting full faster. Still can eat tons of snacks though! How did you do? Jean

Everyone slows down, due to "diminishing returns."
When you weigh 300 pounds and you lose 3% of what you weigh...that number is much bigger than when you lose 3% of 200 pounds....think about it! The rate may stay the same, even though the number of pounds loss gets smaller.
Fact is, as we approach goal EVERYONE slows down. It's normal!
Topic: RE: Little losses
After the 40 pound loss in June after surgery-- Ive been bouncing up and down the same two pounds since-- I am about 171 today.
For me, I think the 5 day pouch test is stupid. I eat 900 calories of which are balanced 30% fat, 30% carbs and 40% protein-- if my body needs less to lose weight, then I am destined to stay 171. C'est la vie!

Ok I cheated a little yesterday. I had some nuts and two pieces of jerky. Today seems better. I had not prepared my pantry for this because I just came home from vacation. But today I'm ready I have soup and protein drinks at work and at home.
Good luck on day too.
