Giving up proteins is NOT a good idea, Abbie. Protein is CRUICIAL for muscle building, recovery-- everything you need for fitness.
Try Miralax, daily. It's safe and adds fluid to the bowels...finally offered me a little peace. And up the fat in your food a bit. But don't skimp on the protein!
Topic: Mmmkay-- how many calories?
How many calories are you taking in a day, and what sort of exercise (if any) do you do?
Topic: RE: Distal vs. Proximal Bypass-- what gives?
My nutritionist refuses to discuss calories, says I am doing fine, and that there's no need to up my intake unless I am physically hungry-- which I am not. I plan to up it to 1000 calories next month, regardless, though--- I've been very low cal for over a year and I worry that it's not good for me.
Topic: RE: Distal vs. Proximal Bypass-- what gives?
I've gone off and back on a few days-- added fat, etc...no changes on the scale.
The doc and nut said if I am not hungry, there's no need to up my intake. I only get "mouth hungry" not stomach hungry. I've increased fat, supplements and water, still lose slowly.
I suspect, Abbie, it has to do with our pre-op losses. I've lost 81 since surgery, but 150 this year, y'know?

that estimator calculates I should be at 217.....I'm at 235 right now.

It seems like we're all in the same boat. Just like you, I'm doing everything I know to do and the scale has not moved for about a month.
My personal trainer wants me to step up the intensity of my workouts, he thinks that my body has grown accustomed to the level of activity I do: 2 days of strength training, 3-4 days of cardio and bozing lessons 2-3 times a week.
Perhaps you need to do more than just walking? Building up some more muscle mass makes your metabolism work harder and burn more fat. I've lost only half of my excess weight at 7 months out yet my arms and waist are getting pretty defined.
Hang in there, we're all going to get there. *fingers crossed*

I eat 1000-1100 calories a day, 70+g of protein. I've resently upped my water to 80oz from 64oz per day.
My nut doesn't require to count calories either, but at this stage of the jouney she feels I'm in a good calorie range to stay in. I track my calories because though I get in 70+g of protein, I could easily graze on candy or chips all day (darn hubby!). But tracking the calories, keeps the carbs in check.
And I'm in a stall too (17 days and counting) and like the others have said, I jump up and down during the stalls. It isn't fat we are gaining or losing, it is water, or even sometimes not going #2 enough. But the stall will brake as soon as your body feels it is ready to let go again. Our bodies do need brakes every once in a while. We've been putting them through a lot these past 7 months. So they will freak out from time to time.

I'm with Abbie, you aren't a freak and I too am wondering if you are eating enough? I eat about 1000-1100 calories a day too. I upped it to there from 750-900 calories a day in mid-January and broke my 33 day stall. (I lost 12 lbs, but now I'm in another stall, no way am I upping my calories again though
If your body is only absorbing, say, 500 of the 850 calories you consume, it probably is throwing a fit and holding on as much as it can. And if you are exercising, your body is probably really fighting you. I would think the more you are bypassed the more calories your body will need so it can absorb enough and be happy enough to let go of the weight. Like someone with a DS, they need to eat 2500-5000 (depending on gender and height) in order for their bodies to be at that happy place to drop the weight.
I know not all NUTs are the same, but my NUT told me 1000-1200 is a good range for me to be in this part of the journey. (Just saw her on Wednesday). I'd check with your NUT to see if s/he thinks it might help to up your calories some.
I know this is frustrating for you ((HUGS)) Good luck!

Sweety you started out as a lightweight, so don't concentrate on the pounds you've lost. Instead look at the percent of the excess weight you've lost; you've done great! We are only 7 months post-op; there is NO WAY we are done losing weight yet! I've been in a stall for the past 17 days. I've experienced many stalls since July and they've always passed. This one will too, for you and for me.
Just keep doing what you are doing with the protein, water, exercise, etc. Sometimes our bodies just need a brake, you've been working it hard. But something you can look at is your calorie intake. If you are getting too few calories your body will stall out. It might be time to go up a 100 or 200 calories. (I did this with my pervious stall before this one and it worked like a charm).
Gone are the days of losing 10-15 lbs a month. The closer you get to goal the less you can expect to lose per month. We probably will have to fight harder/longer to get these last few pounds off, but you can do it!

I've been dealing with major head games lately too, so I completely understand (((Heidi))). You do realize how wonderful you have done so far, right? Take a look at your before picture; look how far you have come! Of course you feel skinnier cause you are a lot skinnier!
And you will get to goal. You just need some time.
Your goal isn't outlandish or unattainable. So you can totally do this! You just have to be patient, it'll happen. (I feel like a hypocrite telling anyone to be patient. I'm the least patient person I know.
