Topic: RE: WOW moments are very suttle
I've been feeling the same way and it has been a frustrating two weeks. I can't seem to lose any weight, I have been fluctuating between 4 lbs. for 2 weeks now. If only I could get over this little hump and be in the 160's I would be satisfied enough to leave the scale alone for a while, but I can't seem to stop weighing myself. I do it at least 6 times a day and it depresses me, but I can't seem to stop. I also can't seem to stop snacking at night. I know I am doing this to myself, but for some reason after 6:00 I get the munchies and they are STRONG! I need to start keeping myself preoccupied but I can't seem to get re-focused. My weight loss has been excellent, but now I am really fighting the deamons inside. Any words of wisdom?!?
Topic: RE: CONSTANTLY COLD... Anyone else
I live in Hawaii and have been freeing my butt off since about 3 months out, I wear a jacket all the time. My friends think I am nuts. I wear jeans all the time cuz I am too cold for shorts and its 80 outside, my poor kids are hot and I wont let them turn the a/c on
Topic: RE: Chromes diease
Is it Crohn's disease? If so she can not forget about it. I have two friends with this and it must be managed for optimum health. If she doesn't take care of it her health will decline.
If you are asking if she can have gastric bypass surgery with Crohn's I don't think so. Both of my friends have had parts of their intestines removed because of the disease. I remember reading that Crohn's does not make you a good candidate. But she should ask a doctor. Things change.
Best wishes for your friend.

I guess my concerns are if you are no longer taking your vitamins what are the nutritional values that would warrant using this as a replacement? You know A, B, C, D Calcium, Iron etc.

This morning I put on my size 12 pants. No big deal they pulled on nice, buttoned easy and I look and they are just about a perfect fit. Then I think about it. Hay, a month ago I was complaining about my size 12's being too tight for prime time. They cut me off and were uncomfortable all day long.
I've been thinking about these wow moments. I've really slowed on my weight loss and I've been thinking ok well maybe my time is over. The reality is I'm still making progress. It's just takes a little more effort to realise.
Good luck everyone, stay motivated and keep on!

Avg about 1 lb loss per week now. I just started to change my diet, now eating 5-6 times a day rather then 3 meals and no snacking (which Dr Monk demands we live by). I decided to try something different because I was at a stall, and would kinda crash in between my 3 meals. I visited the NUT, and she approved of this, and said "did you ever think you'd get an A+ from the nurtitionist? Well I'm giving you an A+". That was so sweet to hear! I write down what I eat, and she kept my papers as an example to her other WLS patients!
I just added a post to my profile with examples of different things I typically eat in a day. I LOVE Kashi foods! Whole grain (helps me to poop) and slow burning carbs (25 carbs of whole grain-takes longer to burn up = stable blood sugar vs 25 carbs brownie/sugar hits you fast then makes your blood sugar drop leaving you feel hungry for more). Oh, did I mention they are very tasty???
