Here's a tip-- to make a very milkshakey milkshake!
Take your vanilla protein (I use Unjury) and add one scoop to 8 oz. of skim milk. Add in a couple ounces of sugar free raspberry syrup (Torani or Davinci), then 4 ice cubes, and 5 frozen strawberries.
Toss it in the Magic Bullet, and blend by "pulsing" 6 or 7 times. Comes out thick, creamy, fruity and tasty-- I start every day this way! I'd have loved this even pre-op!

I'll be completing a 5k on Thanksgiving morning. I'm pretty excited about that. I've done one before but I hope to finish faster and easier than I did when I was heavier.
I'm thankful for my family and that I get to spend another holiday with them.

I love tips and shortcuts!!!
I mix a scopp of vanilla protein powder with my sugar-free yogurt. I buy the Carb-Master yogurt at Ralphs when it goes on sale. I found that I get a creamy smooth consistency when I mix a little bit of powder at a time instead of the whole scoop at once.
Top that yogurt with a few sliced strawberries and it's a great treat!

I'm outta tips for powder protein (I still hate it!) and only drink it in coffee. So, here's a tip for protein in food. You've probably seen it somewhere on the boards, but I tried it and it really is good!
PASTA-less lasagna...if you make spaghetti sauce (or any other Italian style meat sauce) for your family, just hold out some of the sauce for yourself. In a microwave safe bowl, put some of the meat sauce (hamburger or sausage...both are fine or if you are a vegetarian, just use plain ole sauce out of the jar) in the bottom of the bowl, add a couple of spoonfuls of ricotta cheese, top with low fat mozerella cheese and nuke until it's all hot and melted. Top with a little parmesean cheese and garlic salt and it's really great and very high in protein!! You'll never miss the pasta (or carbs!) I use meat sauce just to get the extra protein. If you try it, let me know what you think!!

Do you like it? I really do...I can't taste the protein and when I use vanilla it almost seems just like creamer. You can use chocolate powder and it makes a mocha! Oh, you can also use the sugar free syrups (Davinci) and change the flavor up a bit more and it hides the protein taste even more! Oh, and sometimes I warm up a cup of fat free milk (extra 13 grams of protein) and use the chocolate protein powder like hot cocoa. I add a little drop of peppermint extract and a little dollop of sugar free whip cream and it makes a yummy little night cap! Give it a try!
