Vital!!!
Has everyone been taking their supplements???? Everyday?????No matter what???
And what type of calcium are you taking
I've been taking carbonate and I should've been taking citrate
Found some chelated calcium citrate mints right here @ obesity.coms store
Be careful and healthful
been reading the book "Before and After" great recipes and other tips....good read
same author who runs the Bariatriceating.com website
What is everyone taking @ 9 months out....Curious
Here's what I'm taking:
GNC Women's Ultra Mega Multi-Vit; one serving size in the am and pm
Citracal Calium Citrate (500mg+D); one serving size in mid-morning and mid-evening
B-12 5000mcg sublingual; one serving every Friday
Yes, you should be taking Citrate. Our new rearranged innards don't absorb carbonate very well. It also doesn't absorb B-12 very well, so taking a sublingual B-12 (or getting a monthly shot) helps our body absorb it like it should.
I have read "Before and After" too. I haven't read it since before surgery. Maybe I should dust it off and read it again. I have a couple of WLS books, kinda thinking it wouldn't hurt to reread them all I guess.
Welcome back to the board!
Andi
I take Bariatric Advantage multi vitamin (1 morning/1 night), Citracal Creamy Bites calcium chews (1 morning/1 night), and Nature's Bounty liquid B complex sublingual (in the morning only).
I have been proud of myself because in the past few months I have been especially good about taking my vitamins. For the first 6 months I would be good most of the time, but sometimes I would forget my morning dose or my evening dose. I think I have finally gotten into a routine where I don't forget.
I have this pretty crystal coaster that I put all my vitamins on that I take at home. I take my multi and Iron before 6 am. Then at work I put the calcium out (8 pills). I take the calcium every two hours (8,10,12,2) I finish the ones at home I try and finish that before bed. It seems to help me to look at them on my counter of what I have left to take. I've been pretty good. I'll miss one here or there but most days I'm good.
I take:
A multivitamin
Vit A (2X a day-- total 20000 IU Dry)
B Complex (B1,B2,B6 and Folate)
B-12 (5000 mg sublingual every other day)
Vitamin C (2650 mg)
Vitamin D-3 (1400 IU)
Vitamin E (2x a day--800 IU Dry)
Iron- 1 Regular, 2 Gentle Iron
Calcium Citrate- (6 tablets a day--1500 mg)
Magnesium- 1250mg
Zinc (chelated) 100mg
Actigall (2x a day)
Totals 26 pills a day. WOOT!
