Curious...

Hello there! I am almost 5 months out, and have lost 71 lbs so far. I started this journey at 250 lbs and wonder if the amount of weight I've lost is average or too little for 5 months? Is there anybody out there that started at around 250 and also had the surgery in July that would share how much they've lost? I'm curious to know how I'm doing compared to others. I also started exercising regularly, I wasn't for a while, but I've noticed that the weight loss has slowed down the last 2 months. Thanks to all that are willing to share their experience with me

Look for previous posts "Weekly Weigh in" or "Monday Weigh ins" We've all been putting our progress there. I think you're doing great and it appears to be average. I'm in a bit of a stall. The scale is kind of bouncing back and forth during the week. I know I should stay off it. I think this is just a stage I'm in, Most people go through it one time or another. I've lost 78 since surgery and on that day I was 295. I lost an additional 17 before surgery which was May 07 so I count it definitely. It is a total of 95 lbs in 7 months. Heidi

Thanks for your response! It looks like I'm right there with everybody else, that makes me feel better. I was starting to worry thinking that I was eating too much or not exercising enough! I guess it's just part of the process, there are times when it's fast and you see it coming off every day and times where you just stop! Congratulations on your progress, 95 lbs is great! Thanks!

Hi, it looks like we are about at the same place. I started at 255. Had surgery July 30th and I'm down to 177.5 pounds now. So I've lost 77.5 and have 32.5 left to go to make my 145 goal. I'm 5'3". I too have noticed a drastic change, well more like a stall for sure the past month (Dec) and really since the end of November. I'm starting to see the scale move a little more this past week. So hopefully we are all at the end of our stalls and we'll see the scale moving again. I'm fitting into size 10's and 12's non-stretch jeans! I'm just thrilled. I was truly beginning to wonder if this was it for the weight loss. Maybe I was meant to be this size only... I do have 2 small children that I am very active with, but I do not have a true exercise program. Which I really should. I just don't have a slot of time to fit it in.

Hi there! You sound just like me when you say "maybe I was meant to be this size only"... I would like to be slimmer to be honest because I also have 2 small children, and I can already see the difference in the things that I'm able to do with them now, compared to what I did before. I want to do more, and for that I need to drop another 30 lbs at least! I know how hard it is to find the time to exercise when you have a family; I wouldn't be if it wasn't that my mother offered to babysit if I joined a gym, so that helps. I lost 12.5 inches last month even though the weight loss wasn't that great, so I'm looking forward to next month! Thanks for your response
