Okay I am almost at 5 months (7/12) and at 3.5 my hair started to fall out and hasn't stopped (or even slowed) I had thick hair, so I am 'pulling it off' for now. Nothing is helping, it frightening that I went wig shopping over the weekend. Is anyone else experinecing this? I may be down 75 lbs, but at least 3-4 lbs of it is hair!

Doc says my protein is fine.. Im on Hair Skin and Nails vits in addition to all the others. Doesnt seem to make a difference EXCEPT I am now getting a dark moustache and I have to shave my legs and armpits like 2x daily (if I really cared about that stuff in the winter)

I picked out a wig before surgery because I was so worried about hair loss. It's definately happening - but not so much that I would need a wig. Has anyone mentioned that your hair is getting thin? Or is it that YOU see all of it in your hand? I HATE combing my hair and seeing it all there! I agree with keeping an eye on your protein and making sure you are getting all your vitamins. I think that is pretty much the limit of what we can do. They say that this too shall pass and that it grows back even more thick and beautiful. Hang in there!

Noone has mentioned that it is thinning, but I have people come behind me at work (especially the days I wa****) and start picking strand after strand after strand off my back, they ask if everything is okay (work doesnt know I had the surgery)

Well between the weight loss and the hair loss they probably think you are dying instead of getting more and more healthy. LOL

I am waiting till I get bald. I have fine thin hair and it is leaving me in leaps and bounds. My hair loss started at 3 months and is still going strong. I get lost of protein in... I cant wait for it to come back nice and thick. This to will pass, we just have to wait.

My hair loss seems to be getting worse also.... I am not the greatest at getting my protein in consistantly. I have always had thin, baby fine hair anyway. I'm hoping it slows down SOON!!!

My hair started falling out at 3 months out. Now at 5 months out, it's still "shedding" like crazy. I was like you, I had thick, beautiful hair. Now it's thin, I've never had thin hair before. Never.... It does scare me, but other stell me that it will stop around 8 months out and come back even thicker than before. I take biotin, but doesn't seem to help any. Hopefully it'll stop falling out soon. If not we might need a start a new support group for hair loss... LOL Good Luck Tiffany
