I have tried it. I could only eat a half a piece max. Really only like a fourth of it. I did okay with it. I should have only eaten the first few bites, since they were the only ones that actually tasted good. I guess I was pushing it, b/c from about the 4th bite I was getting that "it's going down the wrong pipe feeling". I didn't get sick, and won't try it again for a while and won't make a habit of it. It's nice to know we can still enjoy a few of the "finer" things in life after surgery LOL Let's see if anyone else has been "testing the water" !! Happy Labor Day!! (what's left of it )

I was in a similar situation. Out of town. I ate the topping of a cheese pizza (so just cheese w/sauce). I don't eat the crust. It was the top of one slice so not more that 1/4 c.

I had the same experience as others here. I had one slice of cheese pizza. I ended up eating all the cheese (after I dabbed up the grease with a napkin) and then a bite or two of the crust.

I think the crust would do me in, but I wouldn't be averse to eating the topping. I just made a small pan of eggplant parmesan this weekend. Boy was it good, even though I cooked the slices on a non-stick griddle instead of frying them in a vat of olive oil. It was nice to have a multi-ingredient meal instead of just tuna or salmon or cheese or yogurt, know what I mean? Linda

I've had pizza two or three times- No problems. I eat about 1/4 to a 1/2 a slice- depending on the size. I make sure to really dab out all of the extra oil on the pizza. NY/NJ pizza is greasy!!!

I tried pizza and got extremely sick. It never came back up, but I had horrible stomach pain and my mouth was watering like crazy. I was so upset because I love pizza and I was hoping to someday eat it. That's awesome that you didn't get sick from it. I probably shouldn't have tried it yet, because I don't think that my doctor allows that for a long time!

hi I have made some homemade pizza using a pita and just veggies and low fat cheese it was pretty good and I was able to hold it down which is more than I can say for most "bready" things. Sheri
