I went to my PCP today and got my blood test results and everything is good. I thought I might be pre diebetic, high cholestrol, high blood pressure or something but all my test results came back good. Now I don't know if my insurance will pay for my surgery if I don't have any medical conditions, has anyone else been overweight but in good health and still had their insurance pay? I have medicare with UPMC for Life

Do you snore? Any chance you have sleep apnea? You'll need to have a sleep study done, but that is what qualified me for the surgery. Linda

well it depends on what your BMI is. mine is 49 and I have no co-morbid conditions and my insurance (which is state insurance, masshealth) is paying for my surgery. for the most part I think it is if your BMI is 35-40 with co-morbids or 40 and above without. but you should check with your surgeon
