Hi Amber, I tried replying yesterday and don't think it went through, so I'm trying again. I wanted to tell you even though I don't know your height, you and I seem to have very similar statistics. I have lost 86 pounds and seem to have slowed a lot lately, as well. I don't know how accurate the weight loss tracking chart is or what they use for it, but it seems you and I are ahead of the chart. Have you referred to it before? Anyway, hang in there and keep in touch if you feel like it. Just wanted to let you know there's people that know how you feel out here.

Hello, well, 1/31 was my 6 month anniversary and I'm happy to say that I am -85lbs! I have to ask my daughter to update my pics. Been getting lots of compliments...like fine music to my ears. I am wearing size 12 and some 10's and feeling FANTASTIC! Fifteen pounds away for my first goal, and I seem to be at a stand still, nevertheless, still very content. I have a question about protein bars. I want to be able to buy a few to keep one at my desk, one in my pocketbook and car for days when I don't get to actually have a lunch hours. Please, does anyone recommend any brand/flavor? I am afraid of buying them because of the high sugar content I've seen. I've been a good girl when it comes to sugars and haven't touched cake, candies or icecream. So when I see that some of the protein bars have a higher amount of sugar than proteins then I always opt not to purchase them. What bars are recommended here and how many grams of sugar do they have? Please share your info. Thanks in advance. Promise to update with new pics soon. Love, Maryellen

You've done great so far. I've found that everyone loses at a different pace. My surgery was July 3, 2006 , and by Dec. 21, 2006 I had lost 113.5 pounds. I do follow the diet pretty close to what was given to me, but, I also have pushed the envelope at times, but I get horrid epigastric pain if I eat more then I should, or eat foods I shouldn't. I weighed 348 in May of 2005, and lost to 307 Feb, 2006. I'm 5'8", and a very large frame. My doc wants me to go to 150#, which sounds really thin, but, prior to any injury or weight problems, I was between 150-180. Because I have long legs I look even thinner then one would think. Personally I try to not pay attention to numbers, because at the age of 10 (yes ten) I was 5'6" and wore a misses size 14, and looked 16. I go by what and how I feel, and my medical condition. Oh, yes, I do like how I look now, with clothes on anyway, . Don't forget, everyone reaches a plateau, and then will begin to lose more. And if you're exercising any, this will help too. Keep on hanging in there, and remind yurself, that this is not a destination, but a continuous journey. And sometimes during a journey one must stop and enjoy the roses (not just smell). Peace, love, health, and happiness. Dana

1. What types of food did you eat this week? low fat turkey chili, chicken pot pie, turkey cobb salad, crab legs, shrimp, protein shake, peanut butter, crackers, low fat cottage cheese, hard boiled egg, soup 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? I work out with my personal trainer twice a week.(he's killing me) two days of cardo. 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? 5lbs., total 83 lbs. Trainer says I should expect to gain about 10 lbs. because I am gaining muscle. 4. What was your biggest challenge? Eating enough food. Now that I have a trainer I have to increase my calories and I am scared because I don't want to gain weight, even though I need to eat to lose weight. I feel better when I eat more and have more energy. 5. When you're ready to give up, what happens to change your mind??? All the compliments and the clothes that I can't fit. I look in the mirror and I am just amazed at the transformation. I am a slow loser and I get discouraged, but giving up is not an option. We had major surgery and that is enough to say I'm gonna make this too do its job. I was on a stall since Dec. 2nd. Finally this week I lost 5 lbs. although I can tell in my clothes I'm losing, but the scale either stays the same or increases. Throw the scale away!!! *Fun bonus question: If they made a movie about your life, what famous person (doesn't have to be an actor/actress) would you want to play you? Oprah

Feb 3rd Sat This mornings wt in was at 255. The body is rapidly changing and the skin is really hanging. My emotions have been more stable this week than they have in months. 1. What types of food did you eat this week? Im still stuck on the Ocharleys 3 cheese and shrimp dip and steamed broccoli and mixed veggies. One order lasts me 3-4 meals for 11.00 . I also started eating some dried cranberry and mixed nuts I get at Walgreens...they are really good. 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? I do leg lifts each day when I wake up and arm exercises...still being lazy and doing them in bed...but still doing them none the less. Also taking a couple long walks a week when Andys home 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? Wt in today was 255 (bmi 36.6). Still hoping to be below 250 for my 7 month anniversery on the 12th..but its looking like I may not make that. Im down 4 lbs since Monday so Im not complaining however its cause its my TOM and so the water retention is passing 4. What was your biggest challenge? Dealing with my husband moving back to Indy and his stuff all over the place. Not knowing what hes going to be doing from day to day...since his job is ruling what he does on a daily basis things change 5. When you're ready to give up, what happens to change your mind??? Finally being able to see a difference when I look in the mirror or I get a compliment from someone that was totally unexpected. I had one of those today from someone at work and it really did my heart and mind good! *Fun bonus question: If they made a movie about your life, what famous person (doesn't have to be an actor/actress) would you want to play you? I used to think I would like it to be Kathern Turner but recently saw her on E entertainment and now that Im getting thinner shes old and fat...LOL Go figure..Guess she could play the old fat me and I could play the present me...LOL
