Hi Sandy, I'm kind of late on this one, but I was in the hospital having my gall bladder removed, not fun! Anyway, Im in the same boat as you are! I have not lost 1 lb in like 6 weeks!!! I am so totally frustraed and I don't know what to do! I started ecrcising like 4 times a week and nothing! I guess our bodies are just trying to adjust to he weight we have already lost, at least I keep telling myself that and keep hoping to see that scale move soon! Hang in there, I know it will happen for us and we will be at goal soon! Shoot me an e-mail if you need to chat with someone, anytime!! Sarah

My surgeon set my "goal"...and it seems so outrageous to me that if I reach it I'll be thrilled. I've not weighed his goal weight since I was a child. I say the normal BMI would be a good personal goal. Christina S

Hi there. hope your feeling better, I know how depressing it can be weighting for that scale to morer. Think possitive. Your grouchey pouch will wake you up and start moving that weight out when your body tells it to. I have had lots of stall and just keep plugging along slowly. You still look great. jusy look back and see where you were 6 months ago. God Bless .Rose

Topic: How did you determine your goal?
Im confused as to what is the best goal weight for me. My Dr said she would expect me to hit 165 ( I am at 169) right now. She said that I can have a personal goal and I have no idea what that would be. I want to be as thin as I can be...at first I was going for 130 but is that realistic for a 40yo 5 foot 2'er? I then settled on 145 in my mind and I thought is that still to much? My BMI normal range is 130-135. OK so..how did you decide ?? TIA! Linda

Wow, I'll bet you are just on cloud 9 aren't you, Jennifer? I sure would be. Isn't it amazing how we have transformed in such a short time? Goals were inconceiveable to me early on and so was losing even 50lbs not to mention what I have lost to this point. So how are you going to celebrate this great milestone? New hot outfit? Keep up the good work, you are doing great! ~~~T C.~~~

Congrats to you MC...I can only imagine how you feel, size 8-10's and Mediums. I don't think I could wipe the grin off of my face if this were me. You are doing great...I'm just wondering though, do you think that size 8 will be to big come spring? ...I'll bet it will be. Keep up the good work, you're doing great! ~~~T C.~~~

Topic: RE: Starting to loss at a snail pace..anyone else?
Hi Melissa, I've always heard the closer to goal you get the slower things go for you anyways. But look at it this way, you are almost to goal and it's only been at the most 7mos. THAT IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! And you are correct, you don't want to get underweight because then there is a whole other issue you'll have there. To the poster that said our 5-7lbs a week losses are over, I totally agree. If we continued at that pace, we'd eventually slip down the drain *L*. You have done a wonderful job...try concentrating on how well you've done versus how far you've got to go. These words are for my own mental as well as I am not anywhere close to goal and am plagued everyday with the thoughts of whether I will make it to goal or not in that lovely window before our work really gets hard. I get caught up in the *I have X amount to go* also, and it often times work against me. Keep your chin up, you are doing fabulous. Keep up the good work! ~~~T C.~~~

Topic: SHOPPING!!!
So, I went shopping on Sunday at JCPenney - they were having a big sale. Most of the tops I bought were MEDIUMS... oh my GOSH. I can't believe I'm wearing mediums in the misses dept. That's crazy. I bought all size 10 pants and a size 8 skirt (hoping to get into that in a month or two. I am ALMOST in the single digit clothing sizes!! I'm kinda freaking out because I seriously cannot remember ever being this small. I've been overweight since I was a kid. Even in Junior high, I think I was a size 12 or 14. It was soooo awesome to go to the clearance rack and find things MY size and be able to buy clothes for $5 or $6. I bought so many clothes for so cheap. Shopping is now fun and I used to HATE it. I also bought (gasp) bathing suits (tankinis)!!! The size 10s fit now but I went ahead and bought size 8s (which fit, but tightly) so that they will hopefully fit in the Spring/summer when I need them. I bought a size 10 tankini in JUNIORS. Wow... I think I had a very eye-opening, mind blowing weekend in regards to my shopping trip.

I'm in the same boat. I didn't lose anything for 2 weeks but I think I"m losing this week cause I lost a notch on my belt and my size 10 jeans are feeling loose. It's frustrating because I have a size 12 pair that still fit... go figure. Anyway, I am actually kinda glad to slow down because I feel like I've been in a whirlwind the last six months with weight loss and I'm glad to stabalize for a little while. I'm actually happy to be where I am even though I really want to lose another 25-35 lbs. My body will lose it when it's ready to, but I think it's trying to catch its breath for a couple of weeks. I also know I haven't been exercising or drinking water like I should AND I've been increasing my food intake because my body is hungrier than it was. I need to exercise and eat fewer carbs and I should lose more. Also, I plan on seeing my surgeon next week to discuss things with him. Just be patient. You'll get back on track but I think our losing 5-7 lbs every week is gone. It's our bodies' way of telling us that we're almost there!! Call me an optimist...

Topic: RE: Friday Five - Weekly Update!
1. What types of food did you eat this week? The usual but I have added pork into my diet. I made a boiled/baked bbq pork that was awesome with rice and broccoli. I've also eaten pork ribs but that's a little difficult because it's fatty and I have to try to get to the meat. A lotta work but worth it cause the meat is GOOD. I've also gotten really into raisins. 2. What types of exercise did you do this week? I haven't exercised... I fell off a horse and had terrible back pain and this week I'm sick, so it's been about two weeks since I've done formal exercise. I shopped on Sunday for 8 hours though so that was a lot of exercise. 3. How much weight did you lose? Total loss? I didn't lose any... total loss is still somewhere around 90 lbs since surgery... a touch over 100 since the beginning. My monthly visitor came so I'm expecting a bigger weight loss this week. I weigh on Fridays only so we'll see.... I lost a notch on my belt this weekend! 4. What was your biggest challenge? Pain from the horseback riding accident (better now) and being sick. 5. Are you receiving unwanted attention??? How are you dealing with it? I'm receiving a lot of attention, but it doesn't really bother me. I actually find the looks and attention to be confidence boosters. I still don't SEE myself the way I really am. I see myself as still being bigger - not as big as I was, but bigger than my new size 10 frame. I'm having a hard time understanding what everyone else sees so that attention actually helps me with that. *Fun bonus question: You're having dinner with a dead person? Who is it? Why? What questions will you ask them? My dad who died when I was 4. I'd like to meet him. I don't really remember that much about him but have been told my whole life what a loving and wonderful father he was to us. I'd like to ask him ALL kinds of questions about who he was, what heaven's like, etc. I'd also love to tell him all about me, my growing up, who I am now, etc. Maybe he already knows...?
